The jump from the H80i to the H100i should be better than replacing the already decent paste with AS5.

Now if you were swapping it out for IC diamond or Indigo extreme, that would be a different story.

Agreed, even the H100 is better, same unit pretty much the H100i just has a few extra things and comes with different fans.
PS: Take a look at the build I made for you previously in this thread!

About ordering :

So, to clear things a bit, I am originally from France so I can order in Europe and arrange for a pickup whenever,
I currently live in Canada, so I can also order in Canada without a problem,
And finally, my gf's parents owns a nice house in Florida so I can have it delivered there, mount it there and then just cross the border with it, the probability of having to pay would actually be less than 13.4794%

In France, I am considering Amazon.fr & Materiel.net, depending on deals and shipping fees.
Here in Canada and in the states : Amazon.com & .ca, NCIX, Newegg, depending on deals and shipping fees.

About the RAM :

I could indeed go with 8 Gigs (one stick or two though ? 2x4 would be cheaper I guess ?) timed at 1866 or more depending on the prices, my mind will not let me go under 1866 for some strange reasons unknown to me. And if I ever need more than 8 I'll simply upgrade later on. That sounds like a plan to me !

@ And to the one asking if I was frond end or back end designer, I do my designs and websites from A to Z, from the first sketch to the final bit of code, so let's say I'm a full end designer wink.gif

About the PSU :

I'll check the price of the Newton R3 in France and see if it is worth it or I will either stick with my AX750 (since I'm maybe planning on going for SLI later on and also because I would have a nice deal on it currently), avoiding the purchase of a 500w PSU then a stronger one when I will SLI. Keep up the suggestions though, the more I'm learning the better !

About the cooling :

I will go with liquid cooling but not water cooling because as you said it can get pricey quite fast, also it is an option I do not rule out for later on, Air cooling would be okay but it's not as nice and takes a lot of place IMO, I've a bunch of friends owning h80i, h100i and even the kraken X60 and none of them so far have had leak problem (I guess they have good diapers), even though they travel quite a lot with their gear. So I guess I'll stick with the h80i which to me seems like a good performance per price deal. Also I will probably switch the fans since noise does bother me as well, I'm not going for an ultra quiet build but extra silence is always good, especially since I'm probably going to save a bunch of money from my original build, thanks to you guys.

About the GPU :

I will definitively await the new 700 series, and use the money saved to go for these new toys, and to the one that asked, yes I would keep that GPU for as long as 18 months I think, considering SLI later on as well.

About the MOBO :

I am still checking into your ideas and have not yet read any kind of reviews on the one you proposed, I must say I did not chose the day to post this well as I am currently in another city for a wedding and some visits to old friends, quite a busy day ! I am therefore sorry for my late answers.
____________________________________

@ADHDadditiv : Thank you for welcoming me and your strong input, why the h100 over the h80i, the bigger radiator ? Memory wise, once again, would 1x8 would be okay or is 2x4 strongly advised in this case ? SSD wise, I will probably stick with the pro version for $ 50 extra because I do want this build to last long and the extra performance would be quite appreciated, I will check into it deeper though and let you hear about my final choice on the matter. The HAF 932 is not my style at all, I am searching for a mature and truly sleek case, I want something as nice and simple as possible, but I appreciate you suggesting it. I would chose Gold over Bronze for the PSU though, I truly want a nice quality build despite the extra money for it (it would be quite a saving also, this will enter the PSU debate section, haha). Why the Samsung over the Asus optical drive wise ? A specific preference ?

@EPiiKK : I will stick with a PSU that can handle a 2 card system for later SLI probably, I will definitively wait for the 700 series that should indeed come very soon, I'll check the noise of the h80i for myself and consider the change also I am already thinking about it quite strongly. And I will definitively stick with 8 gigs for now, promise !

@Shilka : As mentioned, I can order from Europe without a problem so I'll check the specs and its price over there.

@Rmerwede : I will still buy Thermal compound though, a bit extra is never a waste and I do repair computers after all so it always comes handy, having a bit in a drawer is like having a condom into the glove compartment of your car, always useful, especially for something as cheap as 7 $. I do like ASUS, but I will still check into MSI & Gigabyte. I will stick with the 1866 memory wise indeed, I will check into the non pro version as mentioned earlier but the pro seems quite a good added value considering it's price. Considering the GPU : I will be using 2 to 3 monitors, I do plan to keep it for at least 18 month, the games I play are not extremely demanding but it is always nice to be able to run the latest **** at Ultra wink.gif. I will strongly consider the 4GB option since it could as you suggested last quite longer. About the PSU, that is why I will stick with Corsair, SeaSonic or Fractal Design as suggested by Shalki, and why I will stick with at least 650 or 750. Extra watts is always good especially when you do not have to worry about the electricity bill wink.gif.

@Ironman517 : Like I said, a full end designer, I will definitively stick with at least 1866 which I think is quite good, I won't go lower nor more. I can always manage my SSD and knows about it, and I've never myself used more than 80 Gb of my 120 Gb OS partition but I plan to put my games on the SSD (also, if steam mover would work this way for games, why not after all, it could save quite a bit of money indeed, is it user friendly ?), I will look into it, for sure ! I will sure wait for the 700 series as said before.

About the Thermal compound : I will take it anyway, I will check for myself the temps and consider the need to apply it or not on my h80i, thanks for the warning though !

If you want other PSU options you got a ton of them

http://www.overclock.net/t/183810/faq-recommended-power-supplies

If i may point out the the Fractal Design Newton R3 the NZXT HALE 90 V2 the Rosewill Capstone the Rosewill Tachyon and the Be Quiet Dark Power Pro P10 as very good options

As another note the Rosewill Capstone is a rebranded Super Flower Golden Green and the Tachyon is a rebranded Super Flower Golden King so you might find them in EU under that name

The NZXT was one of the PSU I was truly looking into as I heard and have seen myself the quality of it, I guess the perfomances, the quality and the look will decide, I will have to check all the one you mentioned quite deeply as I like to do, why didn't you mention Corsair nor SeaSonic though ? I've heard only good things or almost about them. I will look for these names my dear, thanks for these advices again !

No, but I was aware of it and am eagerly waiting for the price release of the 4670K which should hopefully be around 230$, I am not in a real hurry to build it, I do have a good PC right now (good.. All is relative you might say, but it runs well what I do right now) and a MBP Retina so I am truly open to wait for interesting releases such as Haswell or the 700 series of nvidia. I heard about a successor for the 800D, something not as big as the 900D, anybody else heard that ? I am awaiting for new and interesting SSDs releases as well. Feel free to keep it up !

Also, will the motherboard I selected compatible with this socket ? I think so but I didn't check into it intensively

I think you could benifit from hyper threading and I think you would be making an investment in the future. Their are more games coming out each year that are utilizing hyperthreading. In fact the more graphically demanding games usually have hyperthreading. If you are going with an intel chip then that means you might want to look into the 3770k.

The Phantom is an excellent case for your build. I don't think you need an 800D if your not in to serious water cooling. Neither the original Phantom or the 800D have usb 3.0, but their are card readers that have USB 3.0 built in you only need a usb 3.0 header on your motherboard. I like your build for the most part.

I would definitely get a 7950 over a 670. The 670 is a faster card at stock, but the 7950 is a much better overclocker and can easily outperform that 670. In addition to this it is a lot cheaper. Just make sure yo get one with a good cooler.

I do think it is a good idea to see what Nvidia will do with the 700 series if you can afford to wait. I suspect that to the very least you will see prices drop on current video cards. For the most part I like your build. I would get the hyperthreading though. L

No, haswell will be LGA 1150 redface.gif 2011 is sticking around, though. Regarding hyperthreading, it depends on your specific software. thumb.gif

Thread Starter
@Shilka : All the PSU you pointed out are actually costing at least 200 € in France and more than 300 $ in the US, it is kinda expansive for a PSU considering my budget, I think I'll stick with either : Corsair - AX750 for around 120 $ or a NZXT HALE90 (850W) for around 150 $, 120 $ for a quality PSU like the AX750 seems a good idea to me sincerely.

@Jamdox : There is no motherboard that currently supports LGA 1150, right ? I guess these will be quite pricey once the 4670K on the market ? I would wait for it, if the prices stays around the same for quite the same quality but I'm afraid they're gonna up quite a bit since and I would have to wait for them to go down once the release done. Considering hyper-threading, I mostly use : Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, InDesign, I do move and copy a lot of huge documents though, would hyper-threading be a plus there ? I doubt I have any applications that would use the 8 threads simultaneously though.

@Deadtroll : Thank you a lot for this fresh input ! Considering the hyper-threading, it will all depend of the price of the 4770K, if it gets on top of 350 $, it's a nono for now, and I do not expect it to be sold at 300 $ like the 3770K is right now, quite sadly that is. Case wise, do you think the Switch 810 or 820 would be better on the long term ? I will indeed wait for the 700 series but if ever my budget get tighter for any kind of reasons I'll look in ATI much deeper than I did !
