IN WIN "Frames" Thread - Page 24

you need to check this with In Win. i just oredered 2 PCI card slots for replacement on my D Frame, it went VERY fast (i live in Europe, in less than 4 days i had my replacement parts whereas it was shipped from Taiwan)

the D Frame comes in 2 colors with two different rubber feet: black or blue.
you may get some blue ones (if you feel interested in that color)

if i were you i would keep mine black.

another option is: you can order some ....well i dont know the name in english... here is a pic
http://www.cnaloisirs.com/AccessoiresBateaux/damedenage/damedenage.asp

it is used to hold this

you can nail the "clips" on a small boat, they can accept different sizes of cylinder

or another option: plumber rings to hold pipes on walls (they can easily be painted) Many cylinders sizes...

Hello everyone,

Moving on and will start soon to watercool my d-frame, first step for me in the small world of watercooling !

I already use a corsair h80i gt for my cpu and i don't want to include it in the loop i'm preparing, it will be exclusively for 2 msi gtx 970.

I would like some tips and advice you guys may have encounter while doing this and avoid big mistake (i'm a pro for those)

I'm thinking of using a single bay 5.25 reservoir + pump to replace the optic drive from the back. Will it be enough ?
http://www.amazon.com/XSPC-Twin-Single-Reservoir-Combo/dp/B00SY0GI2C

i want to use a 420mm rad to replace the 3 fans on the lower part of the case.
http://www.docmicro.com/watercooling_radiateurs-420_Alphacool-Radiateur-NexXxoS-ST30-Full-Cuivre-420_11290.html
Any idea how to mount it on the case ?

For the fans
http://www.ldlc.com/fiche/PB00196720.html
(should i use 3 fans on a 420mm rad or 6 fans ? -> 3 above and 3 under)

I'm thinking using acrylic tube but there is other options, not sure which one is the best. I will buy gpu waterblock on EKWB.
I want to keep the case as much as possible close to the original (to keep the HDD bay etc...)

Tell me what you think and what would you do !

Thanks thumb.gif

Hi

Consider that the bay res combo might not work properly if mounted sideways/vertically on the D Frame. The bay res is likely to be designed for horizontal use. It looks from the pictures that you could mount it pumps down and the flow would still be OK, but I'm paranoid.

I'd at least try to get the instruction manual from XSPC or contact XSPC support to verify a vertical mount would work properly.

While waiting their response i found this :

http://www.pureoverclock.com/Review-detail/xspc-x20-420-single-bayrespump-combo-review/5/

(...) **We do not suggest running the Bayres in this orientation. If you must run vertical do so with XSPC logo face downwards**

so far so good, sounds it will work... still waiting for their feedback to be sure tho
post #236 of 336
Here's their response :

"Hi,
It can be mounted vertically, but the pump must be under the reservoir.
It won't work if the reservoir is under the pump."

So it confirm the statement of pureoverclock int he last post.

Any idea how to fix the radiator in the case ? there is no spot to install it properly
post #237 of 336
You might want to make some simple rails to mount across the holes for the fan mounts. Then you can drill the rails as needed to mount the radiator. YMMV.

thanks for the input smile.gif
I will have a done a mess without this information.

I will buy PETG tubes : 10mm (ø int) and 12mm (ø ext)
http://www.docmicro.com/watercooling_tuyau-Rigide_Nanoxia-Tube-Coolforce-Hard-Tube-10-12mm-PETG-5-x-50-cm_12660.html

What type of fitting can I use ?
Does 10/12mm tubing is a good size or should i consider another one ?
Is bigger tube more effective for watercooling ? (since liquid will go slower with bigger pipes i'm confused)

Thanks guys thumb.gif

So after i week i'm back on track

I have installed a 360 rad in the front and a 240 rad on the back

I need to buy long screws because the reservoir does not match the screws of the the bay.. i need to improvise.

I need to do the tubing (PETG), i've try a bit and for a first time it's a pain in the ass.

I'm wondering how to install the pump/res on the motherboard since i have found 0 manual for this item (XSPC twin X2O 420)

Should i make a test for nothing at first to clear all the loop and then refill it ?

Tell me what you think guys
