Hello to anyone that is still active here.
Its upgrade time, and it is what i predicted, the graphics cards. As good as they still are, they're dropping value very quickly and games are indeed starting to test them a little too much. And that being said, I'll be ordering a new card soon and getting these sold afterwards, trying to claw back at the price.
The card in question is the EVGA GTX 980 Ti Hybrid, which around my area i can grab for £600 shipped. I'll be ordering this next week, and that's when the rebuild will commence.
I intend on completely stripping everything, removing every attached part other than the motherboard and door. I will spend time to completely flush every block and restore everything to the best condition i can (This includes respraying my custom panels, as a slightly different colour scheme is to come.)
I will keep the 120.5 cooling setup for my CPU only, allowing me to lower the fan operating speeds and potentially run Passive for longer (I already do so during films, so with 500 odd less TDP, it should be just fine for daily use)
The 980Ti will be mounted on the rear, exhausting air, and keeping with my tradition of hiding my cabling, I am investigating possible ways of getting tubing from the top right to the bottom middle of the case, i have some ideas already and i shouldn't struggle with this, and considering I already have a lot of tubing hidden being the MB tray and the custom panels, adding this will only contribute to the rigs aesthetics, which is a big priority.
Having said all this, I have some questions for the community.
1) Draining, I foolishly forgot to add an easy to use drain valve, but i have some ideas. You guys have seen the pictures and my layout, what do you recommend? -Remove components, unplug all, use bottom radiator plug to remove majority of water (If PSU can be fully removed) is my idea.
2) Colours, the Hybrid features some slightly copper like accents to it, having that, do i keep the coppice finish on the bottom cover or change to something else?
