Bad i5 3570k - Page 11

4.4GHz is your spot for now.
better CPU cooling and/or delidding is your only options.
80C during testing isnt all that bad. My stable 24/7 OC was also 4.5 Ghz but with 1.28V and the hottest core while running Prime 95 for 16+ hours was around 93C but it never break 70C in games so i wouldnt really worry if you are only hitting 80C.

personal preference threshold....
it might be fine in-general and for some but to each its own, me personally don't want to see 80C.
and when around 75C I still didn't like that either.
I could upgrade cooling and/or delid but not wanting to do that either, it's a choice.

just saying.
Well of course. Im just saying if you arent breaking 70C in every day use i wouldnt be scared of shortening the life of the CPU. But im not stupid either, we finally got warmer days and when i saw it hit over 80C in games i backed down to 4.2 Ghz / 1.13V and am enjoying 50C in games max.

I don't like my temps going above 70 really. Right now at 4.4GHz, 1.272V the max temp is 68°C. I could probably drop that down to the low 60's by putting some CLU on the die instead of MX-4.

seems were all in agreement on the temps... thumb.gif

Yeah I don't like to see 80c....

I will be getting a new case soon as the one I have is old and not that good...

I'm thinking of a Corsair 550D or 600T haven't made up my mind yet.... And put a Corsair H100i water loop in it, with 2 noctua NF-F12 pushing air through it..

Well that's the plan...Not because I would like to go higher... Just to get the temps to low 60's at 4.4.smile.gif

The 550D is my first choice because I'm a bit of a no noise freak.. I can't hear any noise coming from my comp even with my setup as it is now!!!

I took my H60 v2 out of my 3570K rig and put it in my 2500K rig once I got my first 3570K replaced.
then I had a Hyper 212 Evo and moved it over to another rig and changed cases.
now my 3570K @ 4.4GHz on 1.248v cooled by a TX3 with dual 92mm fans (performance fans), 66C max..
200R case.

this unit will not be going Haswell.
No haswell for me either rolleyes.gif Apart from a very slight chance of a haswell laptop, but that will only be if mine breaks.

Unless one plans to fold then full load temperature would be an important number to take a look at. wink.gif
