The Titan launch wasn't exactly on the retail roadmap or "expected" by retailers...Like I said, there are currently @ 10 samples floating around of un-launched product.

Now you have an "Ultra", a "LE" and the 7 series debuting on mobile platforms...

I wouldn't exactly say there's a new chip coming out but, what I am saying is that there is a significant amount of product in the pipeline and I wouldn't take Nvidia's word that "Titan is the fastest card of 2013" especially when we haven't seen a real answer to the 7990.

The "Ultra" (COUGH790COUGH) could very well be right around the corner with the "LE" (COUGH780COUGH) and the rest of the series...But, once again, to most retailers, the Titan was a surprise so, who knows what's up Nvidia's sleeve next?

Strange

I agree. When the next consoles roll out I foresee textures & draw distances ballooning in size. If it's anything like last generation, it will be reflected in cross-platform games. If the console is using 2GB, the PC should easily be able to use double that at 4GB.

Wow! I am late to party! What has happened to BSN post? It is being updated anymore... I was checking it for sometime now before i found this post.

Back to business:

1) People are speaking of 780 saying how big of a performance it will bring and it is worth waiting for; for the most part 780 a card being emphasized by a community, meanwhile 770 is left off. Well, let me tell you dear friends, 780 is a card that only the minority will buy. Not everyone has 500$ or more to spend on a video card...

2) Gk110 gtx 780= different beast compared to 770. Really, even if this is true(gtx 770 on gk 104) and comparing it to 500 series refresh, 580 was 10 fps ahead of 570 with an insane price for it. That 1fps~20$, which is really a let down for most pc dudes who upgrade. The point is, with this case scenario 780 giving ~10 fps more does not make it" a different beast". We will have another overpriced card.... X70 has always been(at least for the past 3 years) and will be the best seller in high end market of GPUs(price/performance and Nvidia wont let it be in a bad shape, X70~X80; not X70<<X80).

3)Wait till the official specs, not "leaks" that people believe in more than anything.

They had similar plans with 600 series. To put the bigger chip in x80 card and smaller chip in x70 cards.
The card that was leaked in feb was a gtx670ti. In the end it was labeled as gtx680.
Names like gtx680, gtx680ti were perhaps originally reserved for gk100 which went kaput.

Though in reality in terms of price to performance
7970 GHZ > GTX 680
7950 < GTX 670
7870XT = GTX 660 Ti
7870 > ................
7850 < GTX 660
7790 < GTX 650tiboost
Under that is pretty much AMD land as well.

The GTX700 refresh should push Nvidia to equal or surpass the current AMD cards in performance.

You are pretty right on this mate. But I made some modifications
670 > 7950

Really if anything at stock they are pretty close.
Thats why I chose the 7970 myself(as cost is about the same), but.... in the OC game the 7950 will easily beat a gtx670. Unless you have a crappy clocking 7950. You can have avg 7950 beat out golden gtx670's in the OC game you know....

very debatable...
I must have a PLATINUM N670 then. thumb.gif

And they are banking off of it's brand name and position in the market place big time. You can see this with the coolers.

I think we would be more likely to see the GTX 790 come out as a single GK110 GPU to bridge the gap between GTX Titan and GTX 780 than a cut down GTX Titan with GTX Titan branding to fill the gap.

I was just using Titan LE as a placeholder, it could be a 785 or a 787 for all I know.. I just think they will try to fill that gap with a card...

If it's $599 it will be spot on. Your Reward (Click to show)

The card that makes the most sense at this point as a 780 is 2304 cores, 384 bit, 3GB, 40 ROP's, $599.

Depending on clocks about 20% - 25% faster than a 680.

Fingers crossed and doing my happy dance... This price or that $350 million dollar power ball.... either one biggrin.gif
