Again, show me proof or it's still not settled.

His point, for instance, is a stock Gigabyte Windforce 680 comes in at 1137Mhz boost core clocks and 6000MHz memory. Since my 670 is running at 1280MHz core and 7000MHz memory for Metro Last Light clocks. As you can see, it's not a simple 100MHz core and 100MHz memory over stock. It's actually 143MHz and 1000MHz over stock. As you can see, this isn't very hard to understand.

I also realized that I wasn't using the newest Beta Release drivers, which after installing will probably net me even higher FPS. Which I'm going to run shortly after I install them.

Point being made, is very simple. Your numbers are way off.

Just finished the game, 10 hours into it in ranger mode. Got the "bad" ending because apparently I killed too many people. But both good and bad endings are good IMO.

Some AI issues, small bugs (shadow flickers, night vision not working) but overall enjoyable game. Took the stealth route most of the time but ended up killing everyone.
I ran out of bullets a few times and barely made it out with knife on a few occasions.

I wish there were more variety in weapons though.

How are my numbers off if clock for clock a 680 is up to 10% faster out of the gate? You really believe 100MHz or 1GHz is going to make that up? Now OC the 680, even mildly and the margin if any is even smaller at that point. How is that hard to understand? You aren't showing me anything, THAT's the problem. I know the memory bandwidth is a limiting factor here but I don't see that making much, if any difference. Certainly not enough to go around with your nose in air.

Run the bench full tilt with 2xSSAA at 1080p and someone else post the EXACT same settings with a "mild" OC on a 680. BOTH on the new beta drivers.

So, finished my 2nd playthrough; this time on "hard" (non-ranger), trying for a bunch of achievements I missed (SHADOW RANGER, Redemption, Walking Bank, etc.). aaannnd I'm fairly certain Shadow Ranger is bugged, or the description is wrong. Firstly, the only attacks I used against humans was the 'knock out' attack - it's not a kill. Secondly Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
I only killed in the train chase, AFTER trying not to (it's not possible), when fighting Pavel, and in the final fight. I'm fairly certain you HAVE to kill to beat these sections. I saved Pavel, didn't kill letsninsky or whatever, saved everyone I could...
So, even with all that, no dice. Anyone have it figured out? Because I'm at a loss.

Also, in relation to the ending... Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
The good ending sets up a sequel. Metro 2035 anyone?

And, funny enough, I now have 67% of the achievements on both games. Neat.

I just gave you numbers of a factory overclocked 680, and how it's still behind my 670. What more do you need? We are saying a stock or mildly overclocked 680 can be outperformed by a highly overclocked 670. It's not rocket science, really. It's very simple. We showed you everything and explained everything that needed to be explained for any normal person to understand it. You failing to understand the concept has nothing to do with anything other than your lack of understanding. The 680 isn't that much faster than a 670. Take an highly overclocked 670 and it will best a stock 680 or even a mildly overclocked one. There's nothing more to point out or explain... thumb.gif Besides, the only one who's walking around with their nose in the air is yourself. You keep trying to argue points that you have been disproved about.

On a side note, here's my bench score with new drivers. Everything maxed out @ 1080p SSAA disabled:

I am crashing to desktop due to a "nvidia display stopped responding" error every time I run the game/benchmark. My specs are as follows:

PNY GTX 660 (stock)
Win 7 x64 + 320.14 drivers
Intel 2600k (stock)
16gb DDR3 1600mhz Kingston

I tried running the benchmark in veryhigh/high mode and I crash after about 30 seconds. The sounds starts to loop and the screen turns to a solid red, black, or white color. MSI Afterburner reports the temps getting to 66º C on max load which seemed fine to me. It is not my hardware because I can successfully loop 3DMark on extreme settings stable. Anyone have any ideas?

Thank you for posting the benchmark. I guess we will wait for a 680 owner to post theirs.

I fully understand the whole discussion, what you don't is how those clock differences translate into FPS.

A 670 with 680 pcb and a 680 are practically the same cards, what are you missing here (especially if the 670 is clocked higher than the 680)? doh.gif

What makes a 680 faster than a 670 clock for clock? Now apply that knowledge here and the picture becomes a bit clearer now doesn't it? I should hope so anyways. Man this conversation is becoming stale. . It starts out at a 4 FPS difference. OC that 670 and you might see 50FPS. Now apply a mild OC to that 680 and you would probably see 50FPS as well. Do you understand now?
