EVE Online is the only MMO I ever played. It does have a huge and steep learning curve. But I found it to be an excellent game for me. Pretty much any MMO can't be played casually, you just miss too much...

Starting to realize this. I am leaning towards just playing rift again and starting a new character

If you roll up on Faeblight, give me a private message, I'll hook you up with some plats, and a bunch of 24/28 slot bags to help you out.

Here is the guild that I'm in.

The new Marvel Heroes is actually a good bit of fun and free to boot. You might want to give it a try.

Well, I know you said you said later that you are going to LotRO, but this may change your mind again ...

Yeah I saw that this morning. I will probably give it a try once it goes F2P.

My girlfriend and I played lotro for a few hours last night and honestly neither of us was really loving it. Maybe it gets better but it seemed a little dull and quests were laid out poorly with lots of running back and forth over long empty distances. Rift has some of that but not as bad.

I am also giving GW2 a better try. I bought it on sale couldn't quite get into it at first but it really gets better once you start getting beyond level 10 or so. It definitely has the best layout for quests I have seen in an MMO. There isn't so much running back and forth, and it is more dense like rift vs say LOTRO or SWTOR. Since GW2 has a mac client as well could theoretically both play it.

It doesn't.

I Beta tested LotRO and played it to max level after release. It was basically a "game on rails". The whole game guided you through EVERYTHING. There was very little real "choice" as to what to do. Once you maxed out one character, you are basically done. If you roll up another, it is really just more of the same.

I've rolled up 9 characters in Rift (6 on one server, 4 Guardians and 2 Defiants, and 3 more on another server), and the game is pretty different with each archtype, while the quests aren't, you often have the choice of 2 zones to level up per 10 levels (aside from the starter area and area when you leave it for your faction). Even in Storm Legion, you have 2 different zones you can level up in. Factor in 2 factions, and the game is pretty different for at least 4 characters (2 Guardians and 2 Defiants) as far as quests go.

I never liked games based off another intellectual property (ie book or movie), they often just fail to interest me. I feel like I'm a second fiddle to the main character in that other IP. LotRO was no exception.

About the best think I liked about LotRO was the "Monster PvP". That was "cute", but cute wore off too.

As far as GW2 goes ... I have a $70 GW2 account with a couple of mid level characters sitting on it. The previous guild I was in made the switch from Rift to GW2. I tired it, then quit. If you want, I'll sell you mine for cheap. wink.gif
