Only Excavator could power Maxwell. Skylake will be 1% faster than Haswell. lachen.gif

Yes, yes they will. Our sources could not verify the amount of ARM cores at this point in time. Stay tuned.

Rumors can only be believed when they are realistic. See my specs for example. thumb.gif

I have an idea that would make billions. Just make a special motherboard that can SLI/X-fire any type of video card, no matter the brand or model of the card.

You can combine any two (or more) cards and there's no limit to the number of cards, it just takes the performance of each cards and combines it for ultimate performance.

No special drivers and SLI/Cross Fire bridge needed, the cards work independently and it adds to the gaming goodness!

Just install each driver separately and a special software combines it all into one!

There's no way that AMD and Nvidia can prevent this in their drivers as the softwrae tricks the card into thinking it's working independently.

No stuttering issues either!

I'd call it the Video Combiner series motherboards. Gold certified, platinum verified.

Well although I don't agree with you often if Intel keeps this up we won't actually see much.
Excavator is still a building machine name so it will be slow heavy and use lots of power biggrin.gif

True though the Kepler cores are only half the efficiency while using way less power.

Let her know, I started using it because of this post, and it was only meant to be temporary.

Seriously though, there's an easy fix to microstutter. Have a special hardware based frame metering system that smooths out all the stuttering before it sends it to the monitor, not after thumb.gif

How hard is that?

I have a feeling some of the Nvidia guys around here are going to have to be put on suicide watch if AMD really does come through with a 20nm VI card before the end of the year. So much anger and denial over just rumored specs... doh.gif

I'm just so sick of waiting. I've been waiting almost for 4 years for a graphics card.

In June 2009 I bought my first computer since 2001. It had a GTX 280. When I played Crysis Warhead I was disappointed and wanted another video card.

When the 480 came out in Feb 2010, I didn't want to buy it cause in my mind "I just" bought my computer.

I decided to wait for the 580. When the 580 came out in Nov 2010, I heard the 590 was coming out only a few months later, so I decided to wait.

I waited until April 2011 and bought the 590. Then I had to return it because my case couldn't handle it smile.gif

Then Kepler was rumored for Q3 2011 release and I waited. When that didn't come I got pissed off and impulsively bought a 580 almost a year after it was released in Sept/Oct 2011.

5 months later the 680 was released in March 2012 biggrin.gif

Since I just bought the 580 and the 680 was gimped I decided to wait for the 780. Then a $1000 Titan shows up in Feb 2013 heh.

I've been waiting 4 years to buy a video card on launch date that didn't turn out to be some sort of disappointment. Now if I buy the 780 on May 23rd, I'll be pissed if a super duper 20nm VI shows up in October heh.

I might just buy a 780, a soon to be released 9970 be damned.

Now watch the 780 be $700-$800 which forces me to wait for AMD, and then AMD turns out to be a 28nm release instead of a 20nm release, which will make me wait for Maxwell in Q1 2014, which will be around 5 years I wanted to buy a damn video card.

Uh, if that's how you do things you're never going to have a new GPU. There is ALWAYS something bigger and better right around the corner.

Beefy CPU + GPU just below top tear and upgrade gpu more frequently.
