But think of what I could possibly achieve with this baby......Or I guess I could just buy Intels overclocking insurance, and disregard the temps altogether? thinking.gif

if you get the insurance...then you can melt that sucker...go for it... thumb.gif

I did get it firt cheap. Im selling my i5 2500k for 120 so technically I got paid 20 bucks to upgrade. biggrin.gif

But thats not the issue, having a great clocking chip like this, is almost irreplaceable. Even if I go down to fry's and grab another no guarantee I will get a great clocker again.

Money is not the issue, as much as luck is.

If I was confident the vice method is idiot proof, i would go buy one and do it this weekend.

That's exactly what I thought to myself. "If I break it at least I still have my 2600k and I'll wait for the next deal and grab another one". I didn't even think twice about delidding it. It's a pure performance gain and I wanted a faster overclock than my 4.8 2600k. First step in doing that is delidding and so far it seems I've gotten a great chip.

At 5ghz with 1.39v (1.36v in windows).

The temps are great! ~26c idle, ~60c-70c (avg 65c) full load.

I always self-declare items coming in from UPS. Only paid $9.50 to CBSA instead of paying for the crappy service from UPS.

Also, +1 for Memory Express. Best price beat and shipping in Canada IMO.

Thanks! I got my case for half price at Memory Express and I like how their shipping fees are not too high and processing as well as shipping is fast. For my case I only paid about 5$ for shipping. When did you order and get your CPU? I ordered Sunday the 19th and still nothing.
Anyone had their order around the 143520 range and got theirs?
Yeah, $4.99 flat rate shipping across Canada on all orders under 100lbs is awesome... And plus they have free shipping on Thursdays if your order is over $100 and under 100lbs.

I was 141348 and I got my 3930k May 22nd. Ordered within an hour of it going up and got the free mouse and keyboard as well.
