thats an odd thing to say about a G400 since i know multiple professional DotA 2 players (on tier1 teams) that use the G400/MX518 and dominate. i was thinking about picking one up myself. currently use a glossy sensei raw and just boss kids around in sc2/dota.

my brother also uses my old G5 with full weights and plays nothing but LoL and owns (i guess as far as amateur players go?). he is a big guy though.

back on track. i think the OP should check out the roccat Lua. http://www.roccat.org/Products/Gaming-Mice/ROCCAT-Lua/

i also use a cm storm xornet for FPS/RTS and i love it and recommend it. for $20 you cant go wrong. use both my xornet and sensei raw on a goliathus speed edition small, i would love a bigger mouse pad but my desk space does not allow for it.

EDIT: it looks like they fixed some issues with new firmware for the cm storm spawn. deff check that out.

Just got a G100s, read my reivew: http://www.overclock.net/t/1389947/rumors-of-g100s-not-being-a-good-mouse-have-been-highly-exaggerated

It will require you to use 6/11 cursor speed and 1000dpi 500hz, but it's fast at that setting, probably similar to the 3500 dpi you used before with a lower cursor speed...

I use my Abyssus at 3500dpi with 6/11 cursor speed......

lol....you probably have something screwed up on your computer that somehow slows your movement speed down because there's no way in hell that 3500dpi with 6/11 is usable by anyone on a properly configured computer.

1000 DPI / 500hz is almost too fast for me to even write words with @ 2560x1440 resolution.

Here's a picture of me doing so, what do your words look like with 3500 dpi?

I'll get a picture once I get home. I can tell you though that I only need to move my mouse by 1.5cm to get the cursor across the screen.

3500dpi 6/11 1080p here.. : ]

Probably getting the abyssus soon. Everything else is too heavy/broken.
Personally for me the Abyssus is TOO small/light, even though I am a claw/fingertip gripper with normal size hands. I utterly love my CM Spawn, and this is after testing a number of other gaming mice. I'll copy here what I recommended to another guy asking for mouse recommendation:

For finger/claw grip users, I can strongly recommend the Coolermaster Spawn mouse. I am a rather good Bad Company 2 player, and really needed a mouse which would be accurate and offer "fingertip" accuracy. When selecting a gaming mouse 1:1 accuracy of its movement to the cursor is important, as is a level of precision (but I personally feel anything above 1800 DPI is overkill given human limits as well as current monitor res). I tested a number of mice and discovered that the shape of the mouse and how it sits in the grip is also extremely important. I have tested:

  • Razer Deathadder - is a bit too tall, long, and heavy for fingertip grip.
  • Razer Abyssus - smallest mouse I tested, was TOO small for my hands.
  • Logitech G9x - the most expensive mouse in my test collection. Shape was ok, but I didn't like the rough surface. Also there are reports of built-in acceleration which defeats the 1:1 requirement, and I was able to detect this acceleration in tests. This is the mouse I least liked.
  • CM Storm Spawn - Amazing mouse for me. Perfect tracking, and perfect shape. My grip is "fingertip" where the palm does not touch the mouse. I find the Spawn gives perfect finger placement areas: thumb and pinkie on the sides for pushing, as well as a "ledge" for the ring finger. The index and middle fingers sit perfectly on the main buttons ready for action. And the rubber surfaces on the sides help with grip as well.

For me the mouse works best with a "slow" surface such as the Steelseries QCK mousemat. Most fingertip/claw grippers use high mouse sensitivity whereby a small mouse motion results in large cursor movement. I did try a "fast" low friction mousemat, and found the friction/resistance too low for controlled, precise movements. Low friction mats are perfect for low-sensitivity palm-grippers, but for fingertip/claw I recommend slow cloth mats.
