Things to keep in mind when overclocking sk939...

Thread Starter
I'm not sure if they are true, please correct me if I am not. I think this will help out a lot of people.
  • The Vcore max should always be around 1.5 V
  • Idle temp should be around 40 C.
  • HTT Link (Use CPU-Z) should be below 1000 (adjust HTT frequency in bios, some options are 5x,4x,3x,2.5x)
  • Once your FSB is over 230, move to 4x, and if it goes over 270 ish go to 3x. (try lowering this is you have any boot failures along with the voltage adjustments, ram timings, etc)

please feel free to correct me as I am a "noob" overclocker or add more.

The Vcore should only be as high as the overclock requires for stability. More Vcore means more heat. You want a lower Vcore if possible to reduce temps, but obviously stability is a must.
