[Firmware Update] CM Storm Spawn (v102) - Page 5

post #41 of 173
Not too late for me! Never really came across the issue, but it is great to see the problem fixed. Easily the best mouse I have owned. I have told my friends the issue has been rectified. Its just a shame the mouse has been discontinued, and is now fairly difficult to find here in Europe. Hopefully the upcoming Spawn doesn't take too long biggrin.gif

Have we not seen Avago settle patent issues, continue with their business endeavors, just with cross licensing?

The way "intellectual property" law works in the US has changed since Obama, by the way.

@Bjaxxen

I would have made a statement to the company and demanded a full refund for the product. After I would have posted on the forum to inform consumers of my personal experience with the product and company. Then I would have moved on if I didn't care to make constructive criticisms of the product and/or company. I wouldn't force the company or (a not at fault) employee to apologize to me for many reasons...

I have had experiences with Razer and Zowie Gear. Razer support claimed their product completely functional (user error), then shortly after released a firmware update to fix my issue. In contrast, Zowie Gear support was receptive and did all I could reasonably ask for, but their product remains with the same issues.

Avago didn't do an excellent job with sensors anyway, perhaps because of lack of competition. I hope some real development is going to be done in that direction.

Thanks for the link. However I did saw it before when it was posted. At that the time I actually had a thought that they were getting rid of the old, and bringing in the new (now I see the failure behind my reasoning). I blame everything on investment bankers, EVIL OF THE WORLD.

a little of topic just to keep things interesting:)

3060-3090 architecture has been transfered across 3 companies.

While initially cross, Pixart has full control of Avago's Navigation Division.

They do say "nominally". Avago has sold and licensed patents to PixArt. Thereby they still have some control. Seems like PixArt would become the main brand for those sensors, likely main developer, but I would not be suprised Avago has their hands in some of the inner workings.

Are they actually going to produce better sensors or is this just a stomping out of competition through US patent laws. If they actually update these sensors or make better ones, I do not really care much who does it.

Software - Enotus Mouse Test 0.1.4;
Mousepad - QcK Heavy;
DPI - 800;
Polling speed - 1000 Hz;
For F/W 102 Max speed - ~2.6-2.8 m/s;
For F/W 61 Max speed - ~4.2-4.4 m/s.

CMGuys, can you do F/W without any issues with max speed like in F/W 61 and finally update software for Spawn?
post #50 of 173
Now that they have fixed this issue. I may a backup spawn before they discontinue it unless CM is going to make another one just like it.
