eVGA Geforce 6600GT 128DDR - CPU Cooling fan???

Hey guys, first post and hopefully my answer its not laying around in here cuz i kinda looked around with no luck

Anyways, i got the eVGA Geforce 6600GT 128DDR and been doing some overclocking .. currently running 500/1000 and idle with side case open and room fan turned on lol doing 57c. if i run everquest 2 at medium settings in window mode i get up to 85c and it seemst o continue rising!.

I have a Intel Core 2 Duo 2.14ghz CPU fan that came in the intel box just wondering if theres any physical way of actually using this fan which seems to have some very good cooling capabilities on the 6600GT GPU. Any ideas?

Thanks guys!

My Specs:
Asus A7N8X nforce 2 Chipset
AMD Athlon XP 2200+ (Doing 1970mhz)
1GB Corsair ram PC3200

There's a possibility to put that fan there but you'll have to do some serious and careful modification.

I've seen people doing that with their video card before and they use cable ties to hold the heat-sink down to the video card. Not only it worked but the GPU overclocked a lot higher than it did with the stock hsf.

So, just figure out how you'd do it, because it can be done.

Good luck and welcome to Overclock.net.

The 6600GT is an oddball when it come to aftermarket coolers

Some have rigged older high end socket "A" coolers on them and AS adhesive heat sinks on the RAM. The problem with the Socket "A" cooler is it takes up about 3 slots

Thank you all for your responses, its 2:33am lol i want to give this a shot.... Hopefully i wont **** things up.. i may have a prob, the cpu fan i have its the fan that the Intel core2duo 2.14ghz brings with box..

Here its the sexy beast lol (Bottom side)

I will have to somehow remove those pins to be able to strap it down with the strappers (tyllers) w/e u call them.

Heres top down pic of the fan.

Size its ok i think, i believe it will fit, not sure what to do with the memory chips thought....

Evga 6600GT card pic when the heatsink its removed.

Lots of space i think

Well if u all have any tips, i will appreciate it..

Thanks all!
