DVI-I or DVI-D help

Thread Starter
I recently sold my Catleap to get a Monoprice 27 but i'm having problems with the input. I use to run my catleap on the DVI-D so it seem only right to hook my monoprice to DVI-D as well but when I do. The monitor looks wavy and purple/red. Sorta like if you were looking at a 3d screen without 3D glasses. I decided to unplug it and replug it in the DVI-I and it looks normal now. Is there any difference between DVI-D or DVI-i? is there any input lag between them?

Have you made sure that the cable isn't damaged at all? Check all the pins as it sounds like a poor signal.

I don't believe its the cable cause I tried two different cables with the same result. The DVI-D slots works fine on catleap monitor but not on my monoprice. I still have the catleap in my possession to test so some reason the catleap works fine on the DVI-D and the monoprice only on the DVI-I. I swap cables around and every possible way. Both cables on catleap with DVI-D works fine. Both cables on monoprice with DVI-D looks wavy and has purple everywhere. Both cables on catleap or monoprice on DVI-I works fine as well.

Sounds like there could be a fault with the actual unit then. If it's not a common thing that can be found with a quick search on the net, you might want to consider returning it.

Is there any input lag between dvi-d or dvi-i? I've contact them for a replacement but it may take a month or two due to it being back ordered so I may just keep it and use it with dvi-i. I do a lot of gaming so I'm wondering if I will get input lag or bad picture

No difference in input lag between the two.
