un explained psu blow up !!!

Hi guys I had an attempt on OC my Sniper 3 with a 3570K and about 2 days later my psu blew up, to this day im still not sure why my psu gave in like that, no crashes, no real hints or signs of unstable OC and even so if unstable shouldnt the system crash or something?

annyway up to now i still dont know what happened and if my OC was the reason
considering my psu is a Thermaltake ToughPower 1200W

at the time i was running only 3-way 670 sli
and a few drives and one blu ray drive and 4 sticks of ddr3
so no real load on psu considering it was a 1200W frown.gif

I only increased the voltage to about 1.300 and my clock freq to about 4.2 (4200) so i dunno to be honest why, but i was just curious if anyone knows if this or OC'ing cpu in general can do this to a psu?

luckily i was under warranty still smile.gif

but ye i mean if the psu was just dodgy from the "get go" like from factory thats ok but its kinda scarred me from OC'ing frown.gif please help me if you know what might have happened

so pretty much do psu blow up from oc'ing??

sorry for asking a noob qwuestion i just understand why

It shouldn't have. Perhaps you got a defective unit from the start, and you didn't notice it once it got really loaded up?

i was hoping that too myself, because honestly its really made me not want to oc ever again like im paranoid to do so, also does oc'ing in general to do psu first before even crashing and glitching n what not?

shouldnt it crash first or reboot suddenly or something if its unstable oc?

i hope it was the psu from the start but im so worried now to do anything
