Any thoughts on this one?

I think the CPU slot is a tad bit too close to the PCIe slot, getting in GPU's way if you're using a large heatsink.

Asrock had the same problems with its Z77e-ITX board, and ASUS seems to be the only company that mastered the CPU placement. (Asrock Z87e-ITX fixes this problem to a certain extent?)

24-pin power FAIL. mad.gifthumbsdownsmileyanim.gif

Anyone who doesn't put that bus straight along that trailing edge parallel to the memory slots is FULL OF THE STUPID OF LIFE.

Thanks - T

did anyone else see the few uk based sites listing the ASUS Z87 board? It says special order but it also lists a price..and the bios going up, is it possible it will finally be available soon?

I think chipset revisions are released to mobo manufacturers this week, so mid-july is more realistic,
but don't my word for it

Got Stuck !! Just bought ASRock Z87E-ITX Mini ITX LGA1150 Motherboard
Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor and now I heard about the C2 revision chip on the Z87 boards. I have not opened the box yet. Should I refund my ASRock Z87E-ITX and wait for C2 revision chip.? If so how would one know if the board one buys has C2 revision chip on it or the old C1 ?

its not worth the headache. go for your build!

if you follow sean's awesome install guide for windows 7/8 here on overclock.net, he suggests turning off any hibernate or sleep modes as they cause excessive writes to your ssd. as far as I understand the issue: on some USB3 drives, going into sleep while you have a file open on the drive MAY cause it to revert it to your last save. and so if you are turning off any sleep or hibernate buffers as overclock sean suggests, there should be no issue at all..

asrock board is great too! heard there are some issues with the back msata slot, but i don't plan on using it anyways..
