I do. Got a problem?

Just don't tell me it's a Samsung Galaxy Camera. Because then you might as well use your phone and won't notice much difference in quality (unless you get an iPhone because its camera is superior).

samsung does not make good sensors/lenses. they are behind the japanese and germans on that one.

Being a T2i owner myself, I have to argue that the hate against Samsung's camera quality is a bit unwarranted. Would I buy one? No. But it's by no means a horrible camera. It takes pretty good photos for what it is. Inb4 anyone jumps in saying it's overpriced etc. etc. I KNOW it is. I'm not saying it's a good value. You can get a T2i body for the same price. It's just a pretty handy small camera with 3G.

who cares. its incredibly difficult to tell the difference when staring at an image if it was taken by a samsung, nikon, canon, pentax, etc... waste of attention tbh. only thing that matters is whether the photo was used with or without permission

samsung dont need to write him nothing but. The publicity alone has probably gotten him more attention and work and he should be thankful samsung used his photo and not some other photographers....

No, you're absolutely wrong. They stole his work, he has nothing to be thankful to them for.

Youre assuming the picture was copyrighted. A lot of these pics are just out thete for anyone to use. Then when a big company uses them they cry about beong paid. Proving theft is impossible. He should be thankful should samsung even respond to him.
It would br cheaper for ss to just settle even though they could win the case...

Use him for a new camera tthey're launching. Take it or leave it lol

Who knows if he did or didn't file for a copyright but that still doesn't excuse Samsung from pulling work and using it. They're obviously in the same position of not knowing if the work was or wasn't copyrighted but went ahead with using it anyways.

I do. Got a problem?

Yes, but it's only with their interchangeable lens cameras. I'm not a fan of camera systems based around APS-C or smaller sensors. I understand the usage of such a sensor to make the cameras price more reasonable but it's evident with the progression of tech camera sensors will keep dropping in price and larger sizes will be able to be obtained for more reasonable prices. To build a system around APS-C or smaller is just hindering in the long run.

____________________________________

And I completely disagree with your first comment. Samsung knows how to handle the usage of images and they didn't obtain it legally. So they're in the wrong, end of story.

I didn't understand anything you said in the first paragraph. It's probably why I use Samsung cameras... happily.

Although, I must admit, my old man recently bought a $900+ Nikon camera (forgot what model, but he also bought some different lenses which were very expensive too), and the pictures he took with her (yes, her) look freakin' awesome. He's not an enthusiast like yourself, but I guess it shows what can be done with a good camera.

As far as your disagreement goes, you're basically assuming that Samsung purposely did this. What exactly would be the benefit of taking such a massive risk for such little gain?

"Oh, let's use this stolen picture, and hope we don't get caught"....

The other thing is, you say, "Samsung knows"... well, you're probably right. Samsung knows. Who is Samsung though? There's over 350,000 employees for Samsung.

One of those people screwed up, and Samsung simply apologized for it. End of story.

edit to add:

Nah, it's just my camera phone, ya know? X3

I was actually teasing Marin.
