I get that it is way slower but I don't get why you posted it, it's like sayin gthe My FX8-8320 is faster the my T400 with a C2D.

Why are AMD users so touchy? You guys really need to get your insecurities in check.

I posted it because that was what I upgraded from, and clearly I have no problem buying from either AMD or Intel, that was really the point I was driving across, but you guys look way too much into things.

I could see $400-600 for one that runs 5GHz at stock, but even then, it would only be for liquid helium overclockers.

If it's just an 8350 achieving 5ghz, that better NOT be $800 bucks.

.... You don't have an 8300 chip, so I guess it's kind of acceptable that you don't understand this, but...

FACEPALM

Do you have any idea the voltage requirements to even hit 5Ghz? It's upwards of 1.525, as high as 1.575 at times. You need an H100 at bare minimum (that's with push/pull) to hold 5, and that likely won't get you into the safe zone temp wise if you actually use the entire chip, like video encoding.

Even if they mean an NH-D14, "Easy" 5Ghz on air, truly stable, is a huge deal, and world record setters (See: Likely target audience) might look seriously at these.

On topic:

That would make an epic HSA-capable server chip.

If we go by the guarantee...

25% guaranteed on air Overclock, for a 300% price premium, completely justifiable. rolleyes.gif

None that I've seen, sadly. A whole wave of articles from all the usual sources, but it's all the same time frame.
