With the PS3 you can use a DVI to HDMI adapter or cable, and use the red/white RCA cables for the audio.

Yeah i second this as i said it before audio will not travel over dvi, so you need two separate adapters anyway because you don't have speakers. You need desktop speakers or i guess headphones that will work with the adapter you get, which depends on what console you get. When you say dual dvi you don't mean dual link you mean you have a Y adapter right ? let us know what console you decide to get and we can post links for the adapters you need.

This is correct I apologize for my previous statement, I forgot I was dealing with connecting a PS2 to a monitor.

Have a crossover 27q led-p monitor, which has a single dual link dvi out.

Going by people's advice I guess ps3 will be the best, isn't it? But then I can't try the famous halo series or the legendary gears of wars.Hope I had the money to get both xbox and ps3 biggrin.gif

Okay ps3 is a good choice , but hang on please be very specific ang google dual link dvi. It is used primarily for 120hz monitors, but is a single dvi cable, you would not want to switch between this and a game console because it would be a pain. Do you mean you have two dvi ports or a dvi cable that splits into to dvi ports. Dual link dvi is a single cable, and would not be convenient for what you're trying to do but will work, you would just have to keep switching ports from pc to ps3 whenever you wanted to use either or.

If it's a cheap korean one you may be out of luck. They don't have a scaler, so need an input of 2560x1440 to display an image. Neither the 360 or ps3 would work in that case. Sometimes they will work at 720p since it's exactly half res but I wouldn't bet on it.

If you going to go for a console the easiest way is to debate what you really want to play more. Working for a Video Game retailer the easiest way I describe to my customers is pick your 5 titles that are Xbox only and 5 that are PS3 exclusived and then decide. Personally I think the PS3 is the more suitable decision currently with ALL of the remaning titles coming just to PS3 this year I.E Last of Us, Beyond Two Souls, Tales of Xillia, Diablo. I'm a Xbox fanboy but PS3 finally has its perks right now, with all the remaining titles. FPS and sports are Xbox and PS3 is for the exclusives and the RPG's in my book along with Blu-Ray and its one of the best Blu-Rays on the market currently and cheapest for the quality. Your call biggrin.gif

To add to this with the Xbox 360 you can also use the official VGA cable along with a VGA-DVI adapter, with the RCA cables, or HDMI, for audio.

Or vice versa, HDMI to DVI with the RCA for audio.

PS3 is simpler to set up for this though and it has options in the menu to split the audio accordingly.
