Oops, I know what fittings to buy I just clicked the wrong ones when I was linking the post. Here are the fittings I am thinking of using: http://www.xoxide.com/g1-4-to-3-8-fitting.html

Yea, my H100 is preforming so poorly because I have low noise adapters on the fans, and even at 100% speed they are not very audible. It actually only hit 102 degrees on a very hot day in my room running Intel Extreme Tuning Utility (Not how I overclock, just wanted to give it a fast max stress test.) I also ran prime 95 and temps were lower. What difference in thickness is your 240mm rad from the H100? Which rad is it?

Thanks for the info on aurora. Pastel looks good to me!

In my case I have room for a 120mm rad, 140mm rad, 240mm rad, and when I take out the drive bays in the front I could fit up to a 420mm rad. I have done a good bit or work on the case with adding cuts routing holes and putting on that glass pannel and I really like it now so Im going to stick with it.http://www.overclock.net/t/1389941/first-water-cooling-venture-help-me-check-my-current-parts-list#

What is your opinion on water cooling GPUs? I am very interested in over clocking them even higher and there noise level is quite high at load with furmark. I have and will look around for parts, but can you give me a ball park estimate of the cost? (2 XFX 7950s). I will likely do these later if I do decide to do them.

Yes I was looking into that fan controller myself! I will keep my options open but thats a definite contender.
The 240mm radiator I'm using right now is XSPC EX240 240mm radiator with 35.5mm thickness. The other radiator is Hardware Labs Black Ice GTS360 360mm radiator with 29.6mm thickness. I'm running push on 360mm radiator (located up top) & pull on 240mm radiator (located at the bottom).

I'm using Mayhems Pastel Blue Berry. Other than that I didn't add anything else in the loop. I recommend premixed coolant, especially Mayhems because they contain necessary additives such as anti-corrosion. Any coloured coolant will stain your tube. It's not really big problem. Rule of thumb is clean your loop every 6 months or 1 year. Clog up block only happen when you didn't clean up your loop for a long time or because of corrosion. You can use distilled water but you'll need to add additives yourself such as anti-corrosion & biocide. Don't use silver kill coil if you have nickel plated block in the loop.

If that is the case, I recommend getting 360mm or 420mm radiator. You can consider Hardware Labs Black Ice GTS series radiator because they are slim (29.6mm thickness) & high performance radiator. This way when you decide to water cool the GPU, you don't have to buy new radiator.

GPU really benefit from water cooling. My GPU used to max at 85C when gaming @21% fan speed & 60++ Celsius @60% fan speed. 60% fan speed is very loud. Now after water cooling, max temp is 42 - 45C. I believe there are two version of XFX 7950 cards; one is reference card & the other one is non-reference card. If you have reference card, these are your choice:-

I am really interested in red colored fluid because I want to see it red in my reservoir. Would it be better to get a pre mixed fluid or add die to distilled water?

And for the rad, I could instal a 30mm with push and pull fans or a 45mm with just push/pull on one side. Which would be better?

On the front where I will likely put a 280mm rad, I could put a 60mm thick rad with both push and pull.

Should I use my rear 140mm space too?

Thanks for the help!

Dye don't have additives, so better get premixed like Mayhems Pastel (come with two version; premixed & concentrate. 250mL concentrate mix with 750mL distilled water to create 1L coolant). There are other premixed too like EK-Ekoolant but I like the Mayhems Pastel colour more. This is an example of Mayhems Pastel Blue Berry:-

CREATOR: gd-jpeg v1.0 (using IJG JPEG v62), default quality

The thicker rad can benefit push+pull. I guess the difference between the two should be only a couple of degrees. If it was me, I'll take 30mm & do push+pull but it just me. It's up to you.

I think it's good idea 280mm rad & push+pull at the front.

IMO, 360 or 420mm & 280mm should be plenty for CPU & two GPUs but there is nothing wrong adding another 140mm at the back if that what you want. I would though because I like overkill & rads are not expensive. tongue.gif

Yea, Mayhems pastel looks great to me, but Im going to do a bit more research before I decide. How dark will the red pastel be in my red pipes? I dont want it too dark...

I am going to figure out how exactly I can mod my case. I dont have full room for a 240mm even yet, but with simple modding that could change. I have a dremmel and a positive attitude haha!

I am going to hold off on the GPUs.

Cool. Pastel seems to be about the best. If I get the Pastel, would you recommend clear tubing? Also, should I fill it with filtered water or deionized water? Whats the difference?

Ive decided that im not watercooling my GPUs. I have non reference cards with really nice coolers and I dont want to have to find a block or sell the cards and buy all new parts and new rads. Im going to keep my cards for the next generation and then an update would be water cooled.

For just the CPU: How beneficial would an additional 240mm rad be? how a beneficial would the 140mm rear rad be? Im thinking of sticking to just the 240mm rad, but I need to know the difference in temps.

Thanks again!

If with Pastel, better get clear. PrimoChill PrimoFlex Advanced LRT is good tubing for the job. Distilled or dead water was recommended because it doesn't contain any minerals in it which is good for water cooling. Filtered water still have minerals in it which can be corrosive.

If only CPU then one 360mm radiator should be more than enough. I don't think you'll get any more improvement in thermal performance with larger or additional radiator(s) if you just cooling one chip.

I'm not familiar with Swiftech Apogee Drive II pump/block. I read they good. For radiator, better 360mm (GTS360) for additional cooling, if you can really fit one up top & you can run 3 fans on them. 360mm will definitely be able to remove heat better than 240mm because of additional surface. Your IVY will definitely benefit from it.

Just remember, improvement when using custom water cooling over H100 is 10C max. If the high temp when using H100 is indeed because poor application of thermal compound between the die & heatspreader (IHS) (factory fault), then don't be surprise if your CPU still running hot (90++ C). You might need to consider void the warranty & delidding your IVY. You might don't like it but just want to know the possible outcome/result moving from H100 to custom water cooling.
