On my system, 1000DPI is not precise at all, it's just too fast. I define "too fast" as anything high enough that you can't do a flick shot with it with any reliability.

As for this G100s, there's nothing really good about the sensor, it's average at best, the main selling point is it's not shaped like a G400. You know, that mouse that's 2 meters tall, 2 pounds heavy, and looks like it was designed by HR Giger.

When I say the sensor is "flawless", I mean that it has no prediction, no acceleration, and high enough malfunction speed to be usable. The mouse on the other hand, does not have high enough frames per second to feel anywhere near as smooth as an MS optical or an Avago 3090. You got these tradeoffs with every mouse nowadays.

I used this mouse solely for RTS + some 3d/Cad stuff and it performed extremely well for both of those uses. For everything else, there are going to be different opinions for what this thing is valid for.

Utter crap. I play best with around 2600dpi.

6/11 cursor speed is the only 1:1 movement setting, while it's possible to play with other bizarre settings, it's not optimal.

Also, has anyone figured out what the purpose of this U shaped strip is on the bottom of G100s next to the sensor? It's not made of teflon, so it seems like it slows down the mouse:

I agree with r0ach... no matter how hard I try to like the G400 I just cannot... it just isn't compatible with my hand... after torturing myself with the G400 trying to play Quake and losing I switched to the MS WMO and it felt like an elastic band came of my wrist - the kills started coming again and I was aiming much better.

G100s has a better than average sensor with a great shape... which means my accuracy will be only a bit worse than the WMO. With the G400 its like 15% worse (not joking).

So basically the point is whats the point of having a good sensor if the mouse feels like garbage? The G100s overall is WAY more accurate than the G400 by a long shot and is overall a better mouse for most. I can only imagine what a torture device G400 is in CAD.

How the G400 received such great reviews is beyond me... those people probably have never used another mouse.

Windows sensitivity and mouse dpi are two totally different things. Mine is at 6/11.

I'm sorry, but if you use 2600 DPI with 6/11 cursor speed, you're doing something wrong. You would do like four 360's just moving the mouse a few inches. That is not a valid gaming setup whatsoever lol. You probably have something configured wrong with your computer that makes it feel much slower than it should.

Using a setting like that in an FPS, you would never hit a headshot, and you would be lucky to hit the side of a barn.

Nope, a couple inches does do a few 360's. Also, you can change the in game sensitivity. When sniping, I drop the dpi to 800.

Also, the my HK ration on my m98b on bf3 is over 93%, kthx.

I really wanted to know the answer to this as well. Someone asked in the Logitech thread and the employee wasn't able or allowed to tell us what that thing is designed to do.

His answer:
