please help a WC noob (me)

Thread Starter
ok im building myself a conroe rig and im considering getting WC instead of air, i do plan on doing some ocing. im getting a E6600 and i plan on sticking that in a P5B Deluxe with some crucial ballistix ddr 1000. im considering upgrading to WC at the same time. I want something that i can easily upgrade, at first im only gonna be using a x1950 pro, probably the HIS, so i think im prob only gonna be wcing the cpu but at some point want to add blocks for the graphics card and bridges.
im fine buying either a ready kit or putting something together myself, like to use hands on learning lol. putting something together myself might make it easier to upgrade later on but i donno.
so please recommend a good beginning set-up and try to keep it under $200 but if u dont think i can get something good for that much then go higher

if you want a kit, Swiftech H20-120 and H20-220 are good and upgradeable

for a custom WC id say

Danger Den GTS 240 Rad

Danger Den D5 pump
Stinger Waterblock Standard (pm fstfrddy on here)
7/16" tubing and worm clamps
and a Danger Den reservoir

and possibly a radbox if you need to mount your dual rad

given the large amount of room inside of my armor i was thinking of trying to mount everything inside and like ive seen so many people do before i wanted to put the rad in the front there under the stuff. donno if this matters at all but i also wanted to get some uv reactive fluid preferably blue cause i think it would look awesome. whats the pros and cons of one size tubing over the other?

Here's a list of parts.EDIT: I see I got beat listing parts..Good list Buddy... Pump...Danger Den :: Pumps :: DC Powered :: 12V DD-D5 Pump

Cpu Block...fstfrddy here on the Forum makes a killer one...Stinger WB

Rad..This is a real good one..... Danger Den :: Radiators :: Black Ice Series :: GTX Xtreme Series :: Black Ice GTX240

This one is good but not as and it costs less...Danger Den :: Radiators :: Black Ice Series :: GTS Stealth Radiator :: Stealth GTS 240 Black Ice

GPU... Swiftech MCW60 Extreme Duty VGA Bare Water Block (3/8" and 1/2" barbs)

for uv reactive fluid, u can try Fluid XP, or you can get distilled water, anti-corrosive and add 5%, then add a UV reactant, and i have an armor, but i have xtra fans in teh front so im mounting mine on the back

A no-hassle beginner water cooling kit is the Corsair Nautilus. I have one (though, I plan to revamp my water cooling setup completely) and it has served it's purpose well. Around $150, it comes with everything and very clear instructions. You can easily add a gpu block to your loop if you buy one.

what about the thermaltake bigwater or the aquarius 3?
hower i would prefer something that was individual parts rather than one big unit like the corsair or the aquarius3. i might just end up doing a custom job though and using the dangerden parts you all recommended. i do want a rad with 2 fans rather than one for better cooling
also, whats the difference in the barbs, between the high flow and the sure fit?

The bigwater is not what you want. Its not very good compared to most set ups. In most cases, kits are not as good as a set of parts that you can get for a little more.

Those are junk to Buddy...If you really want a kit look at these two...They are easy to upgrade and come with really good parts to start with...Get this one if you can afford it....Swiftech H20-220-APEX ULTRA CPU Liquid Cooling Kit

You can add 1/2" tubing and a double rad to this one later on...Swiftech H20-120 Premium 120mm Water Cooling Kit

still trying to decide between the swiftech H20-220 and a custom set-up. both seem good and both seem like in the end they would be about the same price. so i got some question so i can know wc better.
1. is the h20-220 in stiock anywhere?
2. what is a barb? and whats the difference between them?
3. different size tubing?
4. does the res matter at all or is it preferance on what looks good?
