Well, I have run a memtest but not overnight. I only ran it just until it said that there were no issues with my ram.

A piece of evidence that I have to confirm that there aren't any problems with my ram is that my 3850 runs Far Cry 3 without any game breaking problems while the 670 does it pretty much every single time.

Have you attempted to flash the bios on the 670?
If you say you have a spare GPU in case of bios flash failure, you can reflash again safely thumb.gif

I've never heard of flashing the bios on a graphics card before.

How does the procedure work and will it fix my games from crashing? I need a bit of extra info.

Which 670 do you have?
All it involves is a USB and a program put on the USB which is all done before entering windows.

Go here... You'll learn quickly... It's easy to do. Make sure you follow directions...

Use GPU-Z to save your original bios....

Is flashing the bios a confirmed way to fix all of these crashes and such?

My GPU is the MSI GTX 670 PE.

Sometimes you have a corrupt bios and a flash can fix it.

Follow this guide on flashing.

EDIT: I will not take any credit or responsibility of a failed flash, this is at the risk of you, you do not have to undergo this if you wish, please research to make sure you know what you are doing.

did you ever do the RMA and get a new card? If you have and still have issues it is obviously something else in your system.

I haven't done the RMA yet because I'm still deciding what to do.

If I send MSI my card then I'll be left with a crappy 3850 for well over a week and I don't want that. I sent them an email last night asking if they could send me a replacement as soon as I ship my 670 out to them.

well regardless right now you are stuck with a broken card or a crappy 3850 till you do it lol. i would just RMA man as said i wouldnt let one bad card ruin a brand for you especially since they should make it right for you. i mean after all you said you've waited how many years since an upgrade whats one more week lol.
