I'm having a lot of issues playing games. - Page 8

Update:

2nd RMA of the video card still causes issues, mainly the "Far Cry 3 has stopped working" pop-up.

What should I do at this point? Any suggestions?

It seriously can't be anything else in my PC that is faulty because my Radeon HD 3850 had no problems performing.

man the chance of 3 bad cards in a row is like 1 in 500000000000000000000000000000000 chances are something else is wrong. a better GPU is going to stress the ram more, the power more, the cpu more, pushing more bandwidth through pciE bus, so on and so on. The newer card causing more "stress" could be unmasking an issue not present when the lower grade card is in use causing less "stress" like i said i RMAed a 560ti that i htought was broken, got the new one still same problems but my 8800gt ran fine still. upgrade the rest a few weeks later (new mobo, ram, cpu, psu), new 560ti worked fine. so in the end my original card didnt even need RMA it was something else in my system, unfortunately since i changed the whole rig its hard to give you advice as to what it could be (for me anyways).

This is my number one fix for crashing issues. Amazing what a clean and fresh Windows install will fix....

EDIT - Saw that you reinstalled already. Did you do a complete wipe of the drive and a fresh install or just the one where it keeps all your data files? You need to do a full wipe of the drive and then a clean installation if not...

that is what i would think too. not saying OP did or didnt but it could be one of those situations where he didn't want to do the full clean install of windows because of time and what not and just SAID that he did it when he actually didn't, with the belief that the current install was not the issue. as said OP not saying you DID this for sure just my thought on things us humans do lol. Cause in all seriousness it pretty much has to be something else causing the problem man.
