[OCN] Computex 2013 Discussion. No video - Page 4

any idea how a non-industry member can attend Computex? It's on my bucket list being an ex-Taiwanese local and a computer enthusiast. I was in town just yesterday and would love to check it around the time I do my next build (ETA June 2016 biggrin.gif)

Oh and bring your own games and some 79X0s and some 680s , install them on the Haswell rigs and run some game benches, set boobytraps around the area to delay anyone who tries to stop you.

Make sure to bring some cellphone and walk talkie wide area jammers.

And if you get caught just claim AMD payed you

Oh and demand they use an aftermarket cooler with at least 2x120 fans, otherwise call them out on it

I really like that plan although it is way to complex.
Just go there and take the rig with you. Way easier to bench at home.

No, Saturday is. It goes Tuesday through Sat. But, that said, it is almost not worth it to go. No... who am I kidding. It is worth it. Just s000oooooo much better on the closed days smile.gif

Part of the great and cool thing of me going and being there for you, is you get the personal attention of the booth reps (mostly PR guys, but they are good) who can show you the good stuff. Sat is so crowded there is no room to walk some places. But, they do bring out more show girls that day smile.gif

I'm not there for the girls, I'm there for the tech smile.gif I have to ask the girls to get out of the way when taking photos.

What camera equipment are you taking? I invested in a tripod, a camcorder with a mic input, going to take some videos and hand PR guys the mic to do their spiel before I ask them the tricky questions.

Hey! I thought you were just there for your meetings smile.gif You should probably tell our readers who you work for, as I only could guess it due to my superior detective skills LOL

Well. Gear bag is always a good question to answer right, and this year, I got a bit of a bump up to first class. Just wish I could keep it.

I have my Zoom H4n as back up sound this time. It is nice to have redundant sound in a run and gun show. A shot gun is nice, but you are always worried about where it is pointing and to keep the camera on it, or on the product. So this year I have a pair of wireless lavs too. Sound is important.

As for camera. I will be taking stills on my HTC phone! That way they will go up here instantly. And let everyone know where I am and what I just saw. Then you have to wait until I can upload the HD video from a Panasonic HVX-250. I am in awe of this camera! And a bit scared of it. These should be up on the OCN YouTube channel by noon and night my time. If I do my time conversion right, that equals last week some time for you? there about.

Everytime I mention it, I get shouted at by a Mod tongue.gif But a quick google of my moniker then name puts 2+2 together thumb.gif

I have a Pentax K-x for shots and a Toshiba Camelio X400 for video this year. XLR cable for the Behringer mic just arrived, I might invest in a splitter and a shirt mic for sit down interviews. Tripod is a must as well.

AH. You need to be more clever my friend. Take a look at this thread: Guess who wrote the original article linked to smile.gif Hows that LOL

And yes, I hope to sit down with you and talk on camera about the real life and travels of a world famous computer bits reviewer.

New water cooling sets are always fun, but I would much rather see something hot... like new/faster memory modules tongue.gif
