So here is what i have done so far please tell me if i have made any errors

As mention by a senior poster on the post i read http://www.overclock.net/t/1354431/i7-870-asus-p7p55d-overclock-expectations very helpful cheers
i set the BCLK to 180 unfortunately i couldn't figure out how to change voltage manually the post recommends 1.28v mine is at 1.344v (IS THIS BAD?)
i disabled speed step and boost tech as instructed changed the modifier to 22x
So i now have my cpu is running at 3972 core speed i assume that's 3.9 up from the old 2.9 (is this correct seams like a massive jump for very little work?)
i ran prime95 Torture test for 1.5 hours with 42 tests completed and 0 errors or warnings (Not sure how long i am meant to run it for or what this means)

My CPU temps are 34-36 degrees across the 4 cores idle and i believe they were around 86-89 loaded during torture test (again i have no idea what a safe temp is sorry again)

Thanks again all i hope i haven't screwed u too much smile.gif
That's very nice! good job thumb.gif I think the report from the proggy ya ran was quite a bit confusing lol just my 2cents.gif if you were going to do a report like that maybe use a proggy I like called speccy, gives all the specs without all the extra useless info that must be sift through to get to the meat of the data. But good job on your first OC that was very well done biggrin.gif

When you stress test I would recommend just leaving it on overnight, or around 12 hours. You can just use it during the day so you are not stress testing it when you want to use it.

Um bit odd looking at ram speed it's 1600 so shouldn't it be saying something like that?

No, But it is mid to upper-mid range.
Anything from 1156/1366 days is still viable, but is dated enough in ipc compared to modern hardware that there will be a noticeable increase in performance on a well balanced current gen system.

Thats not to say its not a powerful machine.
With a heavy overclock on the 570 and 870 you should be able to play 1080 with not much effort.
Next upgrade will probably end up being the 570 and then the 870 a little later on.
But that machine is more than capable for the time being.

Ram on that board will default to 1333 or 1066.
You will have to go into the memory settings in BIOS and set the speed using either an XMP setting or manual settings if its rated for 1600.

Also: Protip.
Dont ask for help then start bumping the thread with snide comments.
It doesnt make people want to help.

Thanks for the info and as far as your last comment i guess u think it's ok to wait 24hrs for a reply i merely stated that that there were veiws and no reply! And yea i said i was going elsewhere because i think that 24hrs is a hell of a long time to wait for a least a reply! Have a look at the bump times before u take a shot at me the first was after 3 hours then the next was 24hrs later and as soon as i said i was going elsewhere ppl started to post. I couldn't care less weather i got help here or somewhere else thanks to all who were helpful

Protip run spell check before u insult i took the courtesy of doing it for u on this post.

I can understand your frustration mate, but please understand OCN is a sideline, people here have real life issues and jobs etc, also this is quite a big international forum, sometimes topics get missed/times don't align, or simply some dont have the answer you are looking for.

and I'm sorry but your last part of the message is a real kick in the nuts to us OCN members.
Anyways, I hope you find the answers you are looking for, either here or elsewhere
