My Crysis looks LEAPS AND BOUNDS better than that, lol.

Games that rose the graphics bar. One hard call here. But innovation wise... Project:CARS's Alpha release screenshots definitely push photorealism a good notch. So does Arma3, ambient-wise speaking.

Planetside's graphical quality is laughable, and so is its optimization.

This man kids you not. Like EVERYTHING is tessellated. It's crazy. It makes the game look that much better. And wow, they did not skimp on texture quality.

Sadly, character faces almost look out of place at times. But the rest of Metro LL is quite stunning. Doesn't top Crysis 3 as far as tech is concerned, but Crysis 3 let me down with how little it utilized Tessellation.

So if the "bar" is just the average level of graphics in video games, Metro LL raised the crap out of it. But if that bar is the top level of tech utilized by an engine, then Metro is now sitting on top of the bar right next to Crysis 3, laughing at everyone else trying to reach them.

This isn't from two years ago, it goes much further back, but Half Life 2 showed a HUGE graphics increase, especially from the original Half Life series.

Crysis 3 and Metro:LL - both stunning, and both in their own way. (If we are talking about non-modded titles)

Yep and the Alpha doesn't look exceptional.

Oh wow, I thought Crysis 3 actually used a lot of tessellation? The tech demos of Crysis 3 really showed it off, but then again, it's not surprising that they were full of crap. Crysis 2 didn't even come with DX11 out of the box and needed a graphical update early on, and Crysis tech demos showed off ocean waves which never made it into the game (and I have yet to find a mod that adds it).

Yeah Half Life 2 seriously raised it in 2004, much like Crysis did in 2007. Huge leaps for both games.

PCars? I really don't think replay or photo mode counts for anything. It isn't nearly that good looking in game. And by the time it is actually released, there will be other titles to contend with.

The further I get in LL the more impressive it gets. It's just a damn shame about those plastic heads.

There seems to be a lot of internet experts in here again.

There's no photo mode and replays have less polys while its being developed.

Anything pcars you see is real time. You have a real time free cam mode what devs use when making games and what we use for taking screenshots and making videos via fraps etc. In a replay you can use free cam, move where you want in real time too.

Here's a video to show you how it works, note this is real time, no replay, I'm controlling the car from free cam.

I should also add that next week we'll have a hi res screenshot function put into the build which is for future magazine covers, prints, billboards etc. Since 2011 to May 2013 its all been real time user fraps captures
