Quick question about Cpu and Ram. A64 - Page 2

1:1 ratio is preferabble because your ram is clocked faster than ddr400 simple. faster MHz = faster computing...

as long as you stick around 210-220 FSB you'll be fine at 1t. may have to relax your timings just a hare, but the 1t is the important part....

ahh, great!

I dont think I can make such small jumps to the ram with my motherboards overclocking abilities (although Ive been doing well) so I quess Ill have to push the timings instead.

so 1t IS good? I have it on, but I heard it wasnt all that great, in the sense that real world apps didnt seem to benefit. Regardless tweaking the ram timings should be easy and doable, so I can probably research what I need to find out. THanks.

1. That RAM will be safe with a 2.8v setting for a little more speed.
2. Can you post a screen shot of CPU-Z with the SPD timings?

point to note. It seems that was before I started changing timings, but probably with fairly stable overclock(only up ~200, so the stupid .1 volts my bios gives any voltage settings (auto or manual) is probably still pulling its weight at this point, as far as the CPU goes, Im its running cool, and I'm brining DOWN the voltage with gradual prime95 10hour tests).

jesus my paragraphs read like unrwapped, single line c functions)

so, anyways, as of right now, im on, what im pretty sure is, the RIGHT spec sheet for my memory (why would spd give me relaxed timings???) and that is 2-3-6-2-1, yes, I am on 1t and have been for quite some time (i kinda got that crazy 600 mhz I wanted, but now It seems I can perhaps lower voltage to a slight degree, and start working on memory before I hit the gpu for the big (and seperate!) finale.

anyways, I quess it shows im serious about this, I plan to write a quide to overclocking the a8v-se (and related models if I can decriphy any differant bios optiosn) with regard to the differant software aspects across the platforms (screw windows*) and to write it up as a multipaged web page for some stupid web development final I have to do (smart I think), thanks for help.

* and screw the fact that all these modded, overclocked, kickass computers eventually go to waste by the tenious process of "clicking next to install" a whole bunch of ****. Get Linux *****es! Kidding...but think about it

oh. most probably the spec sheet (ram might have been bought as early as 2003, is that a consideration)

enough edits.
