You can have any of the issues that crossfire would normally give. If you are gaming at 1080p though it provides a solid boost to the IGP (at 720p not so much). If you don't want hybrid xfire toss a 7770 in with it should still cost similar to the FX6300 build but would have more GPU muscle.

Here's something i'd build for 500$ i hope it helps:

Case - NZXT source 210 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811146075
CPU - AMD A10-5800K - http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.1306713
Mobo - bundle with the CPU - ASUS F2A85-V FM2
PSU - Corsair cx 430 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139026
Memory - G.Skill ripjaws 8gb http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231654
GPU - Sapphire 7770 Vapor-X - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102993

Total 526$ - You also get two free games with that thumb.gif

That a10 with fast memory will give you performance of i5-3570k pretty much, so it's really worth the extra 26$, i'd also recommend picking up a better cooler for it later on to OC it.

True, but isn't the APU's CPU side quite a bit slower than the FX6300? I see it's about side by side with the FX-4100 in benchmarks, so the 6300 would blow it away theoretically, but how about OCing? And gaming wtith dedicated 7750?

So far I'm half convinced by that APU smile.gif

It seems the FX6300 is just slightly faster than A10, but just very slightly. The a10 is still on a newer socket, so if you want to upgrade in the future, you wont need to upgrade your mobo likely. I'd just go with the one you can get a better deal on, as you are on a tight budget biggrin.gif

It's slower than a 6300 yes but your bottleneck will be GPU not CPU unless you plan to play some very CPU bound games or pair it with a GTX 680 the APU should offer all you need at a lower price. As for OC'ing toss a decent cheap air cooler on it and they show similar gains to other piledriver core based AMD stuff though the IGPU can limit the upper headroom of the OC a little. Basically expect it to be a slightly slower version of a 4300 (uses same cores but lacks some cache).

Ok, but I'll have to invest in 1866+Mhz ram if I want to maximize that APU, right?

So what I'm thinking is - delay the GPU for a month or two, and get the 5800K with fast ram and something like this:
http://outmax.bg/dmz/index.php?_a=viewProd&productId=48099

use the IGP for a while, and the down the road upgrade to something like 7770 1Ghz.

What do you think about that?

Sorry for double post, if I'm to use Discrete GPU (no GF), does to make more sense to get the 5600K, since it's unlocked multi and same cores as 5800K, but substantionally cheaper?

It's not a problem to play on lower settings for a months or so, if in the end I have killer price/performance ratio tongue.gif

When I get an discrete GPU and stop using the IGP, about how far could I OC that APU? Can it reach 4.5Ghz with good cooling?

I haven't had first hand experience, but i've heard that 5.0Ghz is reasonably normal oc under AIO water. Atleast they OC better than Intel biggrin.gif
