Confused, read again...
It's okay man. We were all there once. I don't know why people feel the need to be condescending instead of being helpful when we all had to learn this stuff somehow.

I have a better than average 'netbook' (Dell Inspiron 11z, 11.6") with a i3-330um @ 1.2ghz with HT with Intel HD graphics and I tested Cinebench 11.5 on it to compare scores. Interestingly it scored a perfect 1.0 for CPU Multi-threaded and the OpenGL portion refused to run. I'm less than thrilled with this particular Acer's $450 pricetag, but I'm guessing that's 'Introductory Retail Price' and it will quickly fall to ~$300.

Nice work AMD.
Lol tell me about it. That thing was a slug but atleast it could play 720p youtube video and 1080p content if it was on your HDD/SSD with VLC. I'm impressed at the progress they are making.

I hope it doesn't get very hot like the 11.6 acer ao722 c-60..

I've also owned a 14" AMD a4 chip laptop.. it got pretty hot as well after a few months.

So this uses an ips touch screen? Even the Asus vivobook 11.6 touch only uses TN.. (i3 3rd gen, 450-500 bucks)

I wish the battery life is twice as long tho.. they'll probably just skimp out and use a 2-3 cell battery tongue.gif

This laptop/notebook/ultrabook is not hot at all as reviewer stated...

Acer skipped out, A6-1450 is a tablet APU that is used into an Ultrabook, Its twice as fast Atom D2700 or half the performance of i5 3317u or same as i3 2367M.

why do you inflate these numbers. From your own source.

He also ran a few benchmarks and concludes that the laptop offers about a third the CPU performance of an Intel Core i5 Ivy Bridge processor and about the same kind of graphics performance you’d expect from a Sandy Bridge chip.

And I said before, I have a Ultrabook with a Ivy i5, running it at half speed is too slow for Windows 7.  This APU is supposedly, according to the source, even slower, "1/3/rd the performance."  That means a choppy internet experience where flash is involved.  Gaming sites such as IGN will lag.  The homepage of OCN will lag.

NOTE:  This is with my experience but on Windows 7.  Maybe Windows 8 performs a little better.

Hmm, I have a Athlon on my old laptop, and it gives a total Ghz of 4.0, so that's why it feels faster than you i5 with the total of 3.4 Ghz.

Oh and by the way vampirr, my 6100 have 27Ghz of processing power, which puts it ahead of i7-3970X (which only have 24Ghz of power when all cores are boosting). thumb.gif

But seriously, I have no problem browsing the web with my dual core athlon laptop with Win 8. Even though my CPU almost maxes out when I play tetris online, it is not that bad even with a 5400rpm harddrive.

Edit: Just realized that the A6-1450 will not be that much faster than my athlon dual core.

Thing is i'm pretty sure GPU power drops when the clock speed drops. Considering that web browsers offload more to the GPU every release, a good GPU is what yoour i5 tablet is lacking. Intel Graphics suck, drivers and a big part of the sickness. I have no doubt in my mind that this AMD chip will walk all over your i5 @ half speed. As long as their is a SSD inside that is.

If the coreduo @ 1.83ghz in my old Thinkpad T60 runs windows 7 perfectly fine with no slowdowns then this can do the same thing as well.

Plus this is running windows 8, what is fairly light weight.

That's on battery power. Plugged in the clock speed increases from 1GHz to 1.4GHz. In Cinebench at least it's enough to push it slightly above 1/2 the performance of the 3317U. At less than half the TDP and less than half the price.

These devices are absolute meh.

Performance is so pathetic you can't really do anything with it.

Also most suffer from abysmal sound, keyboard and screen.

For the price, I might as well get either a tablet or an asus zenbook/acre aspire s7

Yes, in a multithreaded benchmark it is able to get to about half of a dual core Ivy Bridge.

In the real world, single threaded performance is still incredibly important.
