WIP: ASUS 7970 DC2T crossflash to Matrix Project and gen Info thread - Page 13

twisted1; you mean if mine was 1180Mhz (limit), and modding bios with +50 - means I can go over 1180Mhz?

But I'm not sure that power target works for 7970 Top - is it something about "boost" 7970 Top cards has boost option?

I am able to set a higher voltage with the bios editor.
any adjustment I make would rest it to 1175 in gputweak until I reboot.

It's to some degree success I guess.
I was able to get up to 1160/6600 at 1.25v
In cross fire. But seems the performance gain is very small . I am able to get 1125/6300 at stock voltage

Just saying my experience

I tried using the newer version of GPU tweak but volts were limited but I could change gpu core to whatever I wanted. I've been playing with these settings the past few days and it's been working great. I can't do much with memory though. Are my volts safe or I should I try and lower any?

Also everytime I save a profile it turns the VDDCI all the way up. Is this normal?

I have a DC2T with 015.023 bios. I can flash it with Matrix Platinum 015.023 bios with no issues. I can't unlock voltage with gpu tweak utility with 2.2.1.4 version and using the DC2 bios.

What should I do?

GPU is stable with Gigabyte TO bios and MSI Lightning Black Edition. If you boot without monitor signal, change the DVI connector with the another dvi slot of card. But I cannot increase voltage over the limit of 1256 mV.

Version 0.42 is now working for me. No more errors:

You can use the above program to edit your bios' default voltage. The program is still evolving to include clock speed adjustments, but for now you can only edit the default voltage. Keep in mind it will be your default voltage at startup. Use the latest version of GPU Tweak from ASUS website: http://support.asus.com/download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=gpu%20tweak&os=30

The program will allow you to set the default voltage to a higher voltage, like 1.3v. But you have to remember that it will always run this vcore at load (it does downclock like normal). You can set GPU Tweak to lower the vcore at startup when you are not pushing your GPU. But if GPU Tweak doesn't start up for some reason, the voltage will default to 1.3v under load.

No voltage isn't changing through this program.

GPU-Z will always show 1.17v. But ASUS' GPU Tweak will show the correct voltage, as well as the voltage when it droops under load.

Hey everyone, I've been following this thread for a while now since i have purchased my DC2T and also wanting to overclock it a little bit, however I have been having some issues.

First of all, I believe i will be needing a new psu due to the fact that the one I am using is quite old and doesnt actually have 2x8pin connectors and therefore I had to use a 6 and 2x4pin connectors to make my second 8 pin in order to make the card work.

I have also flashed my card to the modded bios that allows voltage to be adjusted from 1.19 - 1.27 which worked perfectly (thank you for that btw smile.gif)

The problem is, which could very possibly be related to my psu needing an upgrade is that I get massive voltage drops underload (3dmark11) even at stock clocks I go down from 1.19 to 1.13~ volts. This also happens when i apply more voltage and overclock the card. @ 1170 core with voltage set to 1.275 i drop down to 1.22~ (this is my max stable overclock at this time)

Is this voltage drop specifically due to the psu needing an upgrade or could there be other causes?

I'm able to edit my BIOS with Radeon HD7000 editor ver. 0.42 , and save it successfully , but when I try to flash it AtiWinFlash says "no Image found" , also the same happens with Atiflash in DOS.

I edit PL to 50% and set ASIC from original 77.9% (0.990V vlotage) to 75% (1.030V)., the rest is intact.

What's the problem?
