There are two different 15.17 bios exist; one is work for me (no Voltage) the other one is just bluescreen

113-AD45600-101
113-AD45600-103

113-AD45600-103 This one works. Powecolor doesn't work for me 113-C3860100-100

really strange, i got bluescreen with matrix bios
all other asus bios (top and non top) works for me but voltage locked
it looks like we have different PCB or rev?
like this 7970TOP rev 1
or this 7970TOP rev 1.2

That's a pretty incredibly huge improvment since I last tried it smile.gif They on par with Nvidia cards now in folding?

Yeah, just the GPU. My CPU is getting approx. 40K ppd. So combined, I'm getting approx. 160k ppd.

Guys I found and interesting info; may be the reason why I can't flash old bios, you can't flash new bios. As you see in picture, Chips are different, may be new 7970 Top chips are XT2!? The same with matrix. This is an old review. So there are 2 chips - XT - XT2?

Mine also shows as an XT. Mine shipped with older bios, but I cannot flash to the Matrix bios:

XT2 is what AMD named the "new" Ghz edition gpu's. It was the exact same chip tho just another bios with the "boost" to 1050Mhz.

The ppl. getting MSI Afterburner working and the powercolor bios(is this a ref. compatible bios btw?, looks like it to me since gpu-z/AB and all the standard tools work).

Very interesting, pretty sure this bios will not work on the older bios cards like mine and ericeod's. Don't have mine in the computer atm. so cant really test.
