alright l look into it. how about sli 680 FTW?tongue.gif

The 680 isn't worth the price premium over the 670.

Agreed. All you get from moving up from the 670 to 680 is an extra SMX cluster and higher default clock speeds. You can easily OC a 670 FTW to 680 stock speeds, and that eighth SMX cluster doesn't justify the extra 25% in MSRP.
Code:
NAME CUDA TMU ROP SMX BASE BOOST MEMCL BUS MEMSZ TDP MSRP
670 1344 112 32 7 915 980 6008 256 2048 170 $399
680 1536 128 32 8 1006 1058 6008 256 2048 195 $499

There's a reason that the 670 has sold the most units in the GTX 600-series (source: Steam Hardware Survey, April 2013), and that's due to its superior price/performance ratio.
Code:
GTX 670 2.34% (30% more than the 680)
GTX 660 2.16%
GTX 660 Ti 1.85%
GTX 680 1.80%
GTX 650 1.48%
GTX 650 Ti 0.83%

(Note: 650 Ti BOOST, 690, and TITAN not listed)

I 100% agree with the 670 FTW 2GB SLI idea. They are actually clocked HIGHER than the reference 680s out of the box, and are the best overclocking 670 series IME. Sure, a few people may have 670WF3 cards that hit 1400core, but the average overclock for the 670FTW is incredibly high, high enough that I feel confident enough to say that you can pretty much count on being able to hit 1228core/6800mem out of the box, and that's not counting what a custom BIOS can do for you (1.175v to 1.212v, increased max fan speed, increased boost, etc). I am benching @ 1378core and 7364mem with mine at the moment, and while it's not 100 percent game stable, it's pretty dang close!
I just posted a 3DMark11 score on HWBot with my card @ 1267(boost)/1630(6520eff)mem, my 3930K @ 4.75Ghz (46x103.4bclk, 1.3425V VCORE, 1.175v VTT+VCCSA, 1.80126v PLL, "High" LLC, and 1.660v vDIMM), and DDR3-2202 9-11-10-28 1T (4x4GB). Scored 10834pts, and looking at the scores around mine I see nothing but 680s and a few 7970s. This is, to me, confirmation that the card is way better than it "should be"!

factory out of the box, my 670 FTW runs @ 1188Mhz 1.175v /3105 but throttles down to 1150Mhz 1.15V if it goes to 75°C. no desire to overclock it. takes everything i throw at it. i just re-curve the fan profile when crunching SETI/Einstein.
