General idea: I was scouring through some forums here on OCN and came accross the late Syrilian's scratch case builds that are absolutely gorgeous! The idea popped into my head to build a computer case that not only looked good but could be seen and admired by others as a work of art. Computers to me have always been Art and modding is definitely an art form!

Basically my idea is a central case housing the Motherboard, Graphics card, Hard drive and optical drive. It would then be surrounded by two cases housing Water cooling radiators, a case for the PSU, and one for the Pump. the reservoirs would be mounted on the outside of the case and all tubing would be able to connect right to the main case.

To help with keeping the size down the Graphics card will be mounted horizontally and there will be enough room for dual GPUs. Obviously the case will be mounted into the studs with a wall plate that attaches to the back(underside) of the cases.

Color scheme: Really I didnt get much choice in the matter as my girlfriend stated that if i wanted to put something on the wall it better be purple. So with that.....The case will be made out of Purple and Black Acrylic that is translucent and some pieces transparent so you can see inside.

Here is the layout:

This is the layout and orientation that I will be using with the exception that the rad housings will be straight up and down and not diagonal.

Inside the case. Drive bay will be front center with hard drives underneath. Motherboard will be not protruding out the back and I have a plan for the cables and how to route them so they can be neat, clean and visible. The oval piece with holes in it is the steel wall mount the holes correlate with the mounting feet that are on the bottom of the case.

These are the feet on the bottom of the case and most likely they will be longer than in the model and there will be four of them to support the weight of the case.

These are the PCI slots that allow for dual GPUs. If you look at the interior pic you will notice the long flat beds that say "horizontal PCI". These will not be used in final production, however there will be two slots at the end of the GPU to support the end of the cards and prevent any damage from them pulling on the case.

So far it is still being designed and all specs are being worked out to ensure that when the acrylic arrives I can get it right the first time! I will put some final renders up after I get them finished this weekend.

Any ideas or suggestions from the community will be taken into full account and are greatly appreciated. I actually would enjoy ideas and I can even mock it up in Sketch-up to see how it would look! I am not perfect but I take pride in my work and when this case is finished it will definitely be a work of art!

Sincerely,
DGeorge
