I was wondering if there are any high value displays (with the higher end technologies) that are 1080p? I'm looking to get one as a gift for someone.

There are some 1080p Yamakasi monitors but they are not as value as the 1440p ones.

A 1080p Korean monitor can be found for $250, but so can a decent branded monitor at newegg or any other site.

Yeah.. I don't see the point then with the ~$300 1440p PLS monitors.

If you can grab a Crossover 1440p monitor as a gift, than the person will be greatful to you.

Just remember there is a 10-15% chance that you might get a fautly screen with major or minor issues.
