Need some advice on a future build. Look over my list, suggest away!

Thread Starter
I leave for a deployment very soon and will be back around the holiday season. Just in the nick of time to pick up some parts for a new rig to finally replace my sig rig. My plans are as follows

3770K
Titan
EVGA FTW Z77 motherboard
Don't have a PSU picked yet
A SSD of sorts
and a crap ton of ram for no reason other than saying I have more ram than you do

Pretty sure these parts will suffice for a few years after purchase like my current sig rig has been. If you have any suggestions for parts I would love the input. My budget is $5000, no more, but I am trying to keep it under that mark by some margin! Saving money is always a good thing. Unless it's on car parts, never skimp on car parts. Thanks for the help, if you so desire to help me, if you read this post and are like 'nawwww, this guys got his stuff together, I don't need to post a response' That's okay too! I have to go to sleep, I'm typing weird things on this forum again. But I am serious about part help, I think my build is solid, but this place has taught me that there is always room for improvement.

So you are leaving for deployment soon and will purchase parts right now right?

If you will purchase parts after deployment, than I would suggest to wait for 4770k and a board that it will support. There are 3 weeks for the 4770k to be relased.

If not, than your above rig is very good.

Titan is an amazing GPU that will last you a few years for sure. You can always SLI it later.

You have a very nice budget. Do not ever go cheap on the PSU. Get a good one that will last you for a long time and will work like a charm. Also incase you go for Titan SLI. Get something with at least 850W, maybe 1000W.

Get few SSDs if you can. 1 for boot, 1 for games etc... That's what I do and it is great.

What about the monitor?

Why build a rig that you aren't going to use? Wait until you get back.

Haswell will be out, 700 series will be out.
