Budget mechanical gaming keyboard?

Thread Starter
I spent a lot on pc hardware already, been gaming and building rigs for quite some time (I'm 35 and play mostly FPS) but never really gave attention to the keyboard. Never even tried a mecanic keyboard but want to take the plunge.
Can you please give some advice, without breaking the bank?
Thanks :-)

I've heard very good things about the Coolermaster Storm Quickfire TK and they normally go for around $70 in the US which is a pretty awesome price for a really good backlit mechanical keyboard, go check it out! thumb.gif

^^^ This. You can also find them in Red, Black, Blue, or Brown switches. I have a blue switch one and it is a great keyboard.

Thanks a lot guys, I'm gonna read some reviews. Problem is it's all very subjective and I don't really know which switch I would like more. How did you know which one to choose?

I'd had a go on a blue switched keyboard before. I love the feel and the sound and knew it was the one for me!

QPad MK-50 with Browns for a budget. Bit more fancy, MK-80.

Mk-50 costs 75 euros in my country but is not back lit. The Quickfire tk has some keys on the keypad that supposedly get in the way. Is the Quickfire Rapid the best option in your opinion?
Thanks again for the help

Quickfire Rapid is tenkeyless and the Quickfire Pro is a standard size. I tend to like compact keyboards (I am using a 60 key keyboard and love it) but that is also a personal preference.

As far as what key to get... if this is your first mech keyboard, you probably will be happy with any that you choose. If you do more typing than anything else, you will tend to like the blues or if you are more of a gamer, you may like the browns or blacks best.
