I've been using it for about a year now but only today did I realize the learning potential I have with it. Right this minute I'm setting up a freenas on one vm, installing linux mint in another just so I can learn how to do freenas and have actual hands on experience. Only now learned how to setup multiple hard drives inside of a single vm, allowing me to play with freenas as if I actually had a small file server running. Also just now figured out how to put all vms on a single network. Simple but exciting for me at the moment.
*EDIT* also as I can't figure any other way I'm learning pfsense now as well in a vm to give my freenas and my mint a router.
