Even those older 580's will not have 99% usage in BF3 multiplayer with your 3570K. Prove me wrong make a video showing they are pegged at 99% usage both of them.

how am i talking nonsense when i know from experience first hand...

1100t at 4.1 ghz was bottle necking my sli 580s

switched to a 2500k and problem was gone...

switched to 3570k and still no bottleneck

Im not trying to spread rumors, I dont have to read facts when i physically see it happening

I as well was speaking from experience. You said AMD CPU was the problem.....which it is not. BF3 is known to have these issues. That is the game we are talking about here. You have yet to do a video of BF3 showing your GPU's both pegged at 99%.......because you cant. Your CPU must then be a bottleneck right? No. Its a known issue in BF3 for most crossfire/SLI users.

Obviously Intel has the better chips right now, but that does not mean he has a junky CPU, as you sorta put it. Just coming into a thread and saying "AMD CPU enough said" Is not helping anyone and only comes off rude. Nore does it help at all in this instance. If he was bottlnecking in other games as well you might have a point. But I owned a FX CPU and it was great.

P.S. 1100t does not compare to a 8350 at 4.5GHz........So no your not speaking from experience.

Others with the same GPU and CPU setup? there are too many factors to expect to get the exact same FPS in games as others do. As long as you see you GPU usage @ or close to 99% on both cards then you have nothing to worry about. (Excluding BF3 ofcourse)

I just noticed looking it up... People are having over 300 fps with a single 7970.. What the hell

Mine does the same thing. i have Vsync turned on in the game, so it locks to 60fps with a single, but vsync doesnt work in LoL with CFX.

What drivers are you using again?

Didnt read the whole thread but i hope you have v-sync off and the power slider to +20%

@ OP

Yep, I would say that is about right because two 7970's is some serious overkill. Your CPU is doing some of the work and your two powerhouse cards are sitting back and relaxing.

Also, for those of you who were talking trash about AMD cpu's causing gaming issues here, newsflash: Battlefield 3 is heavily threaded and runs better on an AMD FX cpu, if anything. So that is some n00b talk. Look at BF3 benches with AMD FX vs Intel, Battlefield 3 is one of the first recognized fully threaded games to take advantage of AMD's latest architecture.

True point on the AMD cpu part. Im using an older Phenom II X6 1090t but BF3 still runs flawlessly on my side, paired with my 7970. On ultra preset I average about 80-100 fps on maps like grand bazaar and metro with this combo.

So OP, have you tried running a single card config yet? What frames do you get? (If you mentioned this earlier I apologise)

w/ vsync and 7950 CF I've seen usage like 30-50% on both cards in some matches not long ago, seems higher lately but I have my 2500k turned down a bit (that doens't make sense tho)

I changed drivers and the % seems higher 50-70% sometimes, or 60-80% I don't remeber, but not long ago I was also wondering about low usage even without v-sync
