Are There Any Real Noticeable Benefits From Installing Skyrim On a SSD? - Page 3

Yeah. Windows 7 is 18.7 GB, Steam (Skyrim) is 13.9 GB, Program data and users combine for about 6 GB with a grand total of 38 GB. I don't know where the other 3-6 GB went but it's roughly 119 GB - 41 GB = 78. something like that. Just a rough estimate.

I should examine WinDirStat more closely and see where the other GBs is going.

And as expected WinDirStat does show 2.6 GB as unknown information. according to one source, this may be something called binary logs.

A trick you could use is move the Downloads and Document folders to the HDD you just bought.

Yup. Right click on your Libraries and move the directory to your new HDD.

Skyrim loads fast initially either way, but I noticed with my HDD (and running around 70 mods), as I played for hours, loading times would increase during such sessions, eventually becoming rather annoying. No such thing happened on my SSD setup or SSD RAID 0 setup.

Yes, there are real noticeable benefits, are you mad? Upgrade to an SSD, already! Skyrim will be snappier.
