Putting 2500k under water (ALC) with pics!

My H100I arrived a few days ago and I’m finally getting around to putting it on today. I thought it would be fun to have you all follow each step through pictures as i tear apart and reassemble. Of course at the end I will be posting before and after temps of the setup.

I've decided since I have to take out the motherboard just to go ahead and clean the case. I'm also needing some better cable management so I'm opening up the PSU and removing a few cables since at the time I had completely forgot about modular PSUs when it was purchased.

Without further ado I already have the case and components out and am currently working on the PSU. Join me now through pictures!!!

Sorry for the delay, heres your update as promised:

Each wire that was cut got individually wrapped with electric tape and then they were taped together as a group.

PSU all back togther and then i decided it was beer time. thumb.gif

PSU back in the case

Time to get rid of this air cooler (CM Hyper520N) it served me well..

Popped it off, dang i put alot of thermal paste on there last time..

and all clean!

Unboxing of the H100I..

Installing fans to the rad.. had to do this twice as i had the fan wires hanging off the rad in the wrong direction.

Rad in case, motherboard back in case with back plate installed.

Time for another beer! thumb.gif

crap! i totally forgot about this thread. well here is the last update.

Water block installed:

The beginning of cable management:

Back of the case, my cable management is kind of like a mullet, buisness in the front party in the back! biggrin.gif

Almost finished:

complete... shes alive!!!

tower back in place on my desk.

Quick shot of the glowing Corsair logo!

Now on to temps, I will say I was very pleasenlty surprised considering I picked this unit up on sale for $95.

Ambient rooms temps are between 21c-23c at all times

This first screenshot is pre H100i running @ 4.8ghz @1.384-1.392 max load.. As you can see the temps are in the early stages of melting my cpu to the motherboard. "This was just a testing run I was running stable at 4.5ghz @ 1.284v max load with 75c across all cores."

and here are my temps now.. I'm actually in the middle of getting my 2500k stable at 5.1Ghz @ 1.424-1.432 (offset/turbo). check out the temps!!!

For 95$ I was able to overclock my 2500k by an addtional 600mhz from 4.5 to 5.1 and pretty much averaging the same temps as if my 2500k was still running at 4.5ghz. If you don't really want to fuss with a custom loop I would highly recommend the H100i, especially if it's still on sale for $95.

Thanks for waiting the 3 weeks to finish this post, but if you have any questions please ask! thumb.gif
