Trouble Overclocking Memory

Thread Starter
I have G skill 2x8gb memory. The frequency for the memory is 1600 mhz but my mobo auto assigns it as 1333mhz. When I try to overclock the memory in the BIOS if gives me an error saying it could not startup. Any solutions?

it is probably bad timings.

Overclocking memory is a bear and should only be done after you have stabilized cpu overclock.

Did you already set all of your timings and voltages manually?

What timings and volts at 1333? What are it's "Spec" (IE what do they say it should be when @ 1600)?

Did you enable the XMP profile?

fixed the problem. In BIOS the XMP is called DRAM E.O.C.P. Then you have to set the memory clock to x8 (1600mhz). then set the timings.
Now running at 1600 mhz 10-10-10-30-2T

Try 1600 9-9-9-24 2T? If it fails, keep it at CL10
