DVD DRIVE

PLEASE I NEED HELP I WAS GOUNG TO GO SMALL FORM FACTOR BUT NOW I DONT NEED TO. I WILL EVENTUALLY ADD TWO TITANS

Dude, a 3930k isn't the right Proc for that build. It costs nearly half of the budget.

Grab a 3820 instead, you'll save about $250. Unless you want to widen up your budget a bit, a 3930k rig will not be all that balanced.

Okay what about $2000?
post #4 of 64
No way. If you've already got a card you don't need to expand your budget. It's doable with $1300.

Well, considering you already have a 590 - yes a 3930k would probably be just fine in a 2k+590 budget.

I'd go with:

P9x79 Pro
3930k
8x4GB (The white vengeance LPs are nice, but any 1600 CL9 will work)
590
128GB ssd
2x1tb wd blacks in raid 0
Phantom, C70, or 800D if you have the cash

That should handle anything you throw at it - and probably leave you with a bit of cash.

Okay than I guess its 2500 than.... but no higher.....

3930k = $550
decent mobo = $300
ram = $240
case =$150
ssd = $120
hdds = $80
AF cooler = $50
misc. fans = $60
PSU (I forgot originally) = $150

That's $1700 right there - and he only gets 1TB of storage. the extra few hundred would be great for another ssd and hdd (You could have two seperate RAID arrays for blazing fast speed), better cooling, better monitor/keyboard/peripherals.

Unless he intends on having a shoddily built PC that is unbalanced as fuark, then I would not advise going with a 3930k for $1300.

You don't really need $2500. $2000 would be good enough to get 2 ssds and 2 hdds, along with other nice components.

3930k
P9x79 Pro
8x4GB RAM
2x128GB SSDs
2x1TB HDDS
Phantom/C70
Corsair AX850
24'' 1080p screen
rosewill r9000
logitech g400

Should cost you about $2000, maybe a little over. Enjoy friend!
