$1300 budget for 3930K build help - Page 5

I am still scratching my head as to why newegg does not have the 800 and the 1000 watts of the Fractal Design Newton R3

Its a great unit but only the 600 watts version can be found in the US

They will have them soon I'm sure. Some European stuff takes a while to get over there (Fractal Design, Be Quiet etc).

Use combo deals on Newegg and like sites. On newegg you can often shave prices off, for example you can combo the 3930k with a Gigabyte X79-UP4 and get $25 off, and mostly everything can get a discount with windows products. You can really shave some money off, I had a Define XL R2, 3930k, X79 UP4, 2x256SSDs, 2x2tb 7200rpm HDDs, 4x8 Sticks, a Copy of Windows, a creative sound card, a Noctua CPU cooler, and a 750w Gold PSU for just over 2100 without codes or rebates taken into account (almost everything I had had a discount code). I think you could definitely make this work into $2000 without having to skimp on parts. I would do a wishlist for you but you cant move combos into wishlists. Good luck mate!

80 plus has nothing to do with quality so saying he sould buy a 80 plus gold is not good advice
Just just look the 80 plus gold Raidmax PSU´s they suck

I think the blue in the P9X79 will throw off the build. Since you are going with SLI Titans, and XFX Pro Series 1250w, I think a black/silver build will look great. If you have the money and think it's worth it, go with silver RAM too, such as the Corsair Dominator Platinum RAM.
That looks great! That'll come to quite a bit more than $1000 though. Unless you find the Kingston HyperX 16gb 2133 way under the $139.99 the Team Xtreem LV DDR3-2400 16gb kit comes at, I suggest you go with faster, and higher performing RAM especially since you might upgrade to Ivy-Bridge-E, which will have a better memory controller for faster RAM. I know that the Gigabyte GA-X79-UP4 can only go up to DDR3-2133, and now that I see that your budget is well above $1000, there's other boards out there that support DDR3-2400 such as the Rampage IV Extreme. If you think the motherboard is too expensive though, I would still suggest the DDR3-2400 because it might run with tighter timings at DDR3-2133 than the Kingston. On first boot the RAM will run at either DDR3-1333 at 667 mhz, or DDR3-1600 at 800 mhz. After some XMP profiling, it should run at DDR3-2133. If you find the Kingston HyperX for fairly cheap though and at tight enough timings, go with it since the DDR3-2400 can't run at that speed anyway.

Good news! I just checked, and according to this page, the Gigabyte GA-X79-UP4 supports DDR3-2400 after overclocking.

True. It was a Rosewill Capstone, which is JonnyGuru Recommended, and has a positive LegitReview as well. Not to mention the fact that it has good reviews on Newegg (to be taken with a little bit of caution I know, but if it has a pretty good score it typically means not a lot of DOA, because people tend to leave a lot of DOA reviews). You can also find Coolermaster and other branded PSUs in the 750w range in about the same price point. I know OCZ has a modular PSU around the same price too.

Sory i dont mean to be rude to you or insult you but what you are doing is persudo advice that can be misunderstood

You sould never recommend brands for two reasons one every brand has crap and second almost every brand has at least one OEM or more they buy from

Just look at OCZ Cooler Master and Thermaltake many of their older PSU´s are god awful crap

Its only in the last few years they have bought good quality OEM made units so all 3 has a lot of crap but also some good units

Yes, the same goes for the Coolmax 80 plus gold PSUs. The thing is, most PSUs are not made by the actual brand that sells it. This is why you see many PSUs that look alike and have almost the same design. The Seasonic X-1250 is made by the same manufacturer and uses the same schematic as the XFX Pro Series 1250w. Most PSU brands have bad, mixed, or good reputation because of the PSUs they rebrand. Right now, I would say OCZ has a mixed reputation. OCZ was known for releasing lower than average PSUs a few years back, but they started to release higher quality PSUs with the OCZ ZX Series 80 PLUS Gold. This power supply series has gotten good reviews for its good value and performance. If you want to check on a power supply's durability read user reviews on it along with professional reviews.
