I must have the "better" version then as I don't see any artifacting on mine whether I'm playing Serious Sam or Metro2033. It's an amazing monitor that is worth the extra $$$. I just wish I could afford 2 more for surround biggrin.gif

I would also recommend the ASUS VG278H. I love mine.

There is a stereoscopic 3d thread on Rage3d. One of the users owns a VG278HE and has been complaining about 3d vision since he got it. He was a former amd 3d user. Anyways, I posted a link to that hardforum post and this was his reply.

Baba, the artifact shot is exactly the problem I face. It is more pronounced in some titles. However, I am not referring the crosstalk. I am referring to the grid on the screen as shown in the image. Even without crosstalk, I still see the grid (especially for example in Borderlands 2). It sucks ass. I don't know how to get rid of it. Contrast at 65% does not work for me. Maybe I need to turn down the lightboost and try again.

Got the new borderlands 2 shaderoverride downloaded, so now might be a time to try it out.

I must say, I did not see any of that grid whilst playing Tomb Raider and also my Samsung display had nothing of that sort whilst using TriDef.

If you google "amplified LCD inversion artifact" you'll find more info about the issue. I wouldn't risk it. Its not like you can use 144hz in 3d anyways. So this display literally has no benefit whatsoever over the original 278H for 3d vision. Quite the opposite actually.

I haven't heard that they have and would want some evidence that they have before pulling the trigger, personally.

I currently own a ASUS VG248QE that I bought from Umart in Brisbane/Australia

I freaking love this screen for 2D or 3D gaming.
In January I plan to go back to Umart and pick up the 27Inch version

Asus VG278HE as they have it the reasonable price of $525.
They have a store in Melbourne so I recommend checking them out.

Unfortunately the HE artifacts (in 3D/lightboost) is not isolated. There were three reports, including hazmatm side by side comparision of VG278H and VG278HE.

That said, I did hear that some HE's are better than others. Let's hope that the problems have been fixed by now.
