Unstable overclock? Or maybe something else? - Page 3

I looked more into the issue and I have decided to take the bequiet L8.

EDIT: I hope 530 W will really suffice.

Well, the 450W SeaSonic G Series is a much better PSU than the L8, it only costs 10 € more. It has a Smart Fan technology where the fan won't even spin when it's not needed. Not only that, but its internal components are quite a bit better.  Even so, the L8 isn't bad, it's just that for only 10 € more, you can have a very high-end PSU that still has way more power than you need.

Well, are you sure about this? 450 W sounds really low... And if I wish to upgrade the graphics to a high-end one? or maybe a bit more OC on my cpu?

Oh, and if you had to choose between the Antec or bequiet, which one would it be?

I know I am getting a little annoying, I just really want to be sure.

I'm absolutely 100.00% sure. Don't be fooled by the wattage rating on PSUs. The +12V capacity of the 530W BeQuiet Pure Power L8 is only 36W more than the 450W SeaSonic G Series: the L8's +12V capacity is 480W which is 40A while the +12V capacity of the G Series is 444W which is 37A. That's a very small difference.

However, if you still think that "450W" sounds really low, then I can only recommend that you review everything we've said so far. Even the calculator is recommending that you get a PSU that has a +12V capacity of up to 27A which is only 324W. So that extra 36W isn't going to make any difference. The real difference (which is the more importance difference) is the quality of the unit itself, and even though the L8 isn't bad, the G Series is much better (and not just because I'm recommending it either).

Which video card might you upgrade to?

Probably the BeQuiet because it's modular. I mean, both of them have the same +12V capacity and I prefer modular PSUs. However, if I could afford 94,75 €, then I would get the 450W SeaSonic G Series without hesitating.

Edit: Here's a review of the 530W Pure Power L8: http://www.kitguru.net/components/power-supplies/zardon/bequiet-pure-power-l8-530w-cm-review/7/

Hey, it's better than being the kind of person who doesn't care about which PSU they end up with. I mean after all, it's an investment, so I'm glad that you're being careful.

Well, then I guess I will really take the SeaSonic as it seems after googling a little everyone has a good opinion about it. As for the GPU upgrade, it is unlikely to happen soon, as the current card is relatively new, but the upgrade is likely to be a 670/7950 equivalent.

By the way, I have to retract what I said about going with the BeQuiet Pure Power L8 over the High Current Gamer. I recently learned that even though the L8 is modular, it's not that good of a PSU in comparison to the High Current Gamer!

I found a review of the 530W unit and it sounds like I'm wrong about being wrong and this is actually a very good unit:

http://www.kitguru.net/components/power-supplies/zardon/bequiet-pure-power-l8-530w-cm-review/7/

I apologize. Although, it's still not as good as the 450W SeaSonic G Series.
