The Lenovo Helix is the future!

http://www.lenovo.com/products/us/tablet/thinkpad/thinkpad-helix/

It's the first hybrid I'd buy.

Okay, they weight less. But you still have to carry em into some kind of bad just as tablets so it does is really matters?

I can latex and run R on it (both offline and "natively"), productive enough for me.
Once Matlab (or whatever open source version) and Libre Office gets finished ports to android, I don't see a reason to get anything over my current tablet+dock.
Libre Office has alpha/beta (whatever version it is now) builds up now.

i think we will see maybe phone+tablet hybrids, tablets are just a bigger phone with faster processing. Except they somtimes can't make phone calls haha.

hybrid tablet+laptop is jut a laptop that is thinner, i mean really.
hybrid phone + tablet is just a phone that is more powerful, i mean really
Logical conclusion tablets are good for those who travel and those who take inventory or make presentations and want to look cool wasting my time.

I don't want to know the price, it will give me a heart attack.

I have a tablet, not touched it in months simply because there're no decent document processors for Android, been waiting for a year for LibreOffice to be ported to Android.

I am excited about Ubuntu phones and tablets. Architecture permitting I hope we will get full Ubuntu functionality. LO and all the other programs that make Linux great would be amazing.

This is what id like to see, a full windows 8 x86 11'' tablet with a core i3/i5 haswell ulv(or maybe a Kabini APU), 128gb+ ssd, 8gb ram, a decent battery (5h+), IPS 1080P screen. Now this is where it get fun, in the dock station id like to get an HDD, an additional battery and a GPU! + additional I/O. They could make different dock model that fit with the tablet , with better HDD,GPU, battery etccc.

Re: [t3] Tablets will be replaced by hybrids in

Because the Nexus 10 is in 2-3 years from now?! They are talking about market trend and future market trend. Not the sales of one specific tablet in thes current day and age.
