Lower IS better, but anything lower than 9 @ 1866 is going to come at a hefty premium. I bought the G-Skill Sniper Series (2x4) 1866 and they came rated at 9-10-9-29. I got very lucky and with little effort and stock 1.5 voltage, I hit 10-11-10-28 timings @ 2133.

So, something like this is pretty good?

As an 8350 owner I run 4x4gb DDR3 1866 (due to memory controller limit when all are full they run at 1600 with cas 8, though)

I'd go no less than 1866 though, anything after that isn't worth the price difference but 1866 does indeed still show a performance bump in cpu tasks over 1600 on these cpu's.

What is your actual brand name of psu and model though? All joking aside with it being a fire hazard, no point attempting to power expensive hardware on a crappy power supply and risk an unstable rig, let alone damaging anything.thumb.gif

And by all means, an 8350 will be a huge jump over a 6100, it even was a huge jump over my 8120 (900mhz and a much better per core performance helped a ton!)

I'n my haste forget to answer your questions, sorry about that.

It's an MS-TECH 850 Watt, after frying my old PSU&Motherboard got this one for well, very cheap. But hooking it up, it started to smell funny..
Looked up the manufacturer, says its German, but the stickers suggest it's been built somewhere east. Anyway, haven't had any problems with it asides the smell in beginning.

Already looking into some RAM, funny thing is that the prices here are pretty weird. Fast RAM seems to be cheaper?

Anyway, when i finish this build, i can put up some pics if you guys want, maybe run some benches with the SLI setup and a FX8350 at stock & and OC

Never heard of that brand...

Doing some research the specs seem low for something that claims ":850w". For example mine (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817116016) has 70amps on a single 12v rail, where the one you posted 'only' has 54 amps split between two 12v rails. That and the very cheap part, let alone the funny smell.... I wouldn't trust it at all.

How did you fry your last psu and motherboard?

Mhhh, geussing those AMP's wont be enough to power a SLI setup.. Time for a new PSU i think.

And about the last PSU/Mobo, they died when the PSU went beserk during an OC. it took my motherboard with it.
Funny thing is, my CPU the FX6100 came out fine. Got a new board/PSU, put the FX6100 in it, and viola..

Maybe that's why it's called ''Bulldozer'' tongue.gif

It ran fine for a year in combination with my GTX560 Ti, but when upgrading to GTX670, it started to fall short
and i started overclocking. ( Didn't help allot FPS wise, and went pretty horribly wrong )

That is some very good ram! It also looks like your power supply is pumping out 324 Watts per 12V rail. That should be more than enough for a 670 per rail.

You should overclock using the multiplier only for now. Your max temps should not exceed 61C, and your CPU Voltage should not exceed 1.55V
