I would consider the Use of more 120 Mm fans as there generally more Quite than 80mm fans.

I would make exhaust higher than air intake, that way it keeps the amount of stagnant to a minimum... Ive heard this is the best approach but havent tested much other than my silverstone 120mm and the stock 80mm in my centurion 5. It makes sense to me though,

Looks like you have some good ideas, keep it up..

Im brewing ideas for my own, dunno if im gonna make a long incase i get lazy or dont have enough time!

Thats a nice case, i may pick one up. Imo, i think you have too many fans. 2 in the front, 1x 25xcm fan, and 1x 120mm outtake fan + PSU should do absolutely fine.

what are you going to cut the holes with?
I'm thinking i'll drill a big hole or two with dads power drill (big enough to get my hacksaw in) then hacksaw the circle out and smooth the edges off with a file.

Looks like the TT armor =)
Yes well that was what I wanted in the first place but i couldn't afford! good observation

Nice looking case mod there. Where exactly did you buy it from. I've never seen any cases like that before.
Ascent technologies in Wellington, cost me $110 (NZ). Type "S901" in the search function in pricespy and there it will be. You'll be able to get it for about $96 i beleive as there was an Auckland shop selling it for that (I didn't get it because of postage costs)

dude i just wanted to say you are the photoshop master! lol i cant even make a circle, all jokes aside that case is pretty cool
Lol it's not even photoshop its mspaint . paint has a circle function which i only realised after drawing them all out with the pencil. Same for the lines, but i couldn't be bothered drawing the lines out again though (as you can see). Photoshop/gimp really confuses me.

Well I could do 1 120mm fan in the back rather than 2 80mm, it has holes for both. BTW, my new ttake toughpower 700W PSU has a 14cm fan:

Day One

Ok first off I must let you know I have assigned a mascot for the project.
Her name is Pippy and she's a Jack Russel Terrier.

Pip and I started the day nice and early (much to her dismay):

Pip hed the fort well I went down to Ascent and picked up the case. Why icute? such a queer name

It didnt take long before I tore it apart

The top and side panels are going to be modded like this to have acrylic windows and to accommodate the fans:
Top panel:

Side panel:

I'm going to use PK metal screws to attach the clear panel to the metal. PK screws are ones that cut into the host material, creating their own thread. Like the screws you use to attach plasterbord to walls, only for metal.

A few things arrived today from trademe:

The fan is green. I think i'm gonna make green the theme on the inside of my case.

Ok I need to remove those unnecessary fan grils atthe back. Can't have them reducing airflow!

I left a few uprights just to keep cables from getting ripped to shreds

Ok thats all for today, I need to figure out a way to cut those metal panels (I haven't got a dremel). Guess I'll need to sleep on it.

Yes i realise the thinga about stagnant air, but I think i've got it evened out when you factor in the 14cm PSU fan. If intake is still greater then exhaust I can just use a fan controller to keep the intakes low.

I think You'll find the log thing fun... I have so far. I love it how you get so many replies

Thanks, I think even if you didn't mod it it's still a good looking, great value case. If I ran your suggested fan setup my intake would be way higher than outtake, which as enterprise, identitycrisis and digitrevX have pointed out, is not good.
Thanks for dropping by

Day 2

Ok last night I thought up a few more ideas and drew up another plan or two, so today was time to put them into action. It was a very productive day and it also seemed like a lucky day.
First off let me show you what I came up with last night

I decided to paint my case. Here is my proposed color scheme, let me know of any suggestions. (mainly black with green detail)

This is what the front bit looks like normally, hope it clears up the above image (as you can see the bits along the side extend bottom to topv(black), so the bits along the top and bottom do not extend to the side (green)

again If you are unclear about the above pic (with the lines of green curves), this should clarify, those grills on the top and bottom will be painted green:

(back plan)

As you can see, pippy started off just dead keen to rip into some serious case modding....right, yes of course.

I went down to Union hardware and got my paint supplies. (primer, black gloss, dark metallic green, 320 grit sandpaper, spray can gun)

This is what the green looks like:

I didn't buy a very large can of the green as I'm still not 100% sure of the color. We shall see. It's a kind of dark metallic green.

A way to get the top and side metal panels cut has come up through my good friend Pete. Pete has connections around Wellington (where I live) in workshops, garages etc. He used to be a V8 racer and rebuilt a mitsi GTO by (i quote) "replacing the 4 cylinder with a 3.5L rover V8 aluminium alloy engine, adding a 5 speed celica gearbox, BMW roller bearings in the box, and a drive chain from a holden commodore with locked diff" and all that sort of thing. So Pete has friends in workshops and garages and stuff.

He took my side & top panels and front 120mm fan bracket off to Kia Ora metals , where the panels will get cut with 2cm round the outside, and they'll make another indentical fan bracket (for the two front 120mm fans), all for free!

Here's the fan bracket that needs to be duplicated:

Another thing Pete did for me is get an off cut of Lexan from a car garage, for free again. Its about 2metres long, 1/2 metre wide, and 3ml thick. There's plenty extra for if I screw up.
Im especially stoked about this as I had no idea where I was going to find acyylic/lexan/plexiglass. It also turns out that Lexan is the most expenseive and durable of them all.

Thought I's show you that massive 25cm fan aswell

I found this stuff in the garage, dunno what i'm gonna use it for but it must be handy somewhere. I beleive it's he stuff used around doors to stop draughts.

To top it all off another package arrived from Trademe!!

Fan controller (sunbeam rheobus):

UV cold cathodes:

Green lazer beam

So it was a good day, I now feel like its all downhill from here.
To reward myself I had a wee go on my all-time favorite game: CoD2

Cheers
Silver
