Stupidly low resolutions are always relevant as long as someone else is making the comparison using the same resolution. It may not apply to the vast majority of people viewing the list of compiled data, but it still does regardless. Just like absurdly high resolutions, like someone trying to game with 4k surround is about the current maximum... You can just go ahead and argue that anyone using anything less is clearly an "lolnoob" as well.

Hence my point:

There is a reason why benchmark reviews test more than one resolution, and it is the same reason why you cannot just flat out ignore resolutions you don't like or don't use.

The vast majority of people will post an actual, native resolution and corresponding performance information. All of this is certainly helpful to everyone, even though not everyone has the same resolution. I still cannot fathom why this is even a debate. I honestly cannot come up with one valid reason behind the logic.... it has always been done this way, for the entire history of the dedicated, aftermarket GPU.

Maxing a game = just running it on the highest possible in-game settings. Resolution, performance, and external settings are separate matters altogether, but when comparing performance, it's best to use a common resolution which should be 1080p.

You can't do that, as not everyone runs at said resolution.

The entire point of this is to compare performance at varying levels of hardware AND resolution.

Two people with identical setups might be getting different performance at the same resolution, this would be an indicator of a problem. You can't make this comparison if the problems only pop up at higher resolutions than the "standard" and then people will have nothing to compare their results to.

The whole point of doing it with all resolutions is to give everyone that comparison. That is why, as i said a million times, benchmarks include many resolutions.

Yeah it sounds like it's best to stick with "maxed @ YxZ" instead of trying to make a standard res for "maxed".

Although if you just say "I can run Crysis maxed", I think people will assume you aren't talking about 800x600 tongue.gif.

Still have to specify resolution.

I can run crysis maxed... with 80-90 fps (EDIT: Maximum, average is less)... on 5760x1080, and that is including the 16x whatever aa... But this is purely in game settings mind you.

Masta Squidge is 100% right, there is only one way to compare setups and that is to not include res or any external to the game settings.

Where you really? The 8800GTX was a good card but crysis 1 AA goes up to 16x MSAA. Even at 1680x1050 that needs a lot of umph to keep the FPS in the 60 region. If it was 8800gtx SLI I might buy it.

Actually it was an 8800gts agp card... It was probably running at around 30fps but I definitely kept everything turned right up
